Goodbye.
« on: September 28, 2004, 03:45:33 PM »
Guys, I have to tell you because I dont want you to wonder or worry. Last week I got two sixties on math assignments, so they had to be signed. My Dad told me that if I had another bad paper come home and need to be signed that he would ban me from the computer until report cards come out with silver honors.
Unfortunatly today I forgot my math homework so i had to write a note saying that if I brought it in the next day i would get seventy-five percent of the grade, but if I didn't I'd get a zero and a detention. So then I wasn't too upset then because it wasn't like i had gotten a bad grade on anything yet. But then in french later in the day the teacher was passing back homework from last week and I got a sixty. So... according to the handbook, anything that is seventy or below needs to be signed. So Likely since it's two things he will go balistic on me and I probably won't see you for a while unless I sneak on.

I'll miss you guys alot,

-Lord Elessar

P.S. Remember that generally I'm a good student.

Come on, now, Elessar. You need to do better at your school work. Besides, if you get busted sneaking on, you'll just be banned for a longer period (best case scenario). Ignore any of our illustrious members who tell you school doesn't matter (love them as we might, they're wrong). Buckle down and get your grades back up -  I'm pretty sure most of us will still be lazing aorund here when you return.

Aww poor Ginny.  As if you didn't have enough problems with your brother's CD, you now have problems with school.  It's cool.  I understand what you're going through except I'm in college.  Get focused and good luck with your school work.  We'll see you again down in the path of life, that's guaranteed.

HAHAH

Seriously...School is a waste of time unless you are studying for some profession such as doctor, or engineer.  Personally i think the education system is a bigger joke than most corrupt governments.  I made it my mission to amass the lowest possible grades during my high school years.  A mission that i completed with flying colors!   Didn't stop me from continuing into sciences and business Universities. Business school is especially a waste of time.

Moral:  School sucks muhahah
Keep a good head on your shoulders and good intentions, grades won't matter.

PS. No one make the predictable response of trashing my post by commenting on my pic.   :D  :D

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain... er, beneath the box!

Mo, as your pic clearly shows us, you're exceptional. You and your Nigerian email scam are doing great. That doesn't mean espousing your successful choices amounts to good advice.

You and Elessar are very different people living in very different locations (I think) and you're older than he is - what worked for you then and there is unlikely to work for Elessar now and wherever he is. Haven't you heard? This is the New Economy!

Ack she mentioned the pic!

New economy ...exactly my point!  The old systems of education are becoming as obsolete as fast as they are building up more University buildings here in Montreal (fast).  Schooling is more for developing ones adeptness at social interaction and communication.  Helping one learn how to learn.  Textbooks and bell curves are an annoying by-product that can be ignored.

I'll let you all know when throbble's assumption of amazing success has come true  :P

When I was growing up, my mother made it very clear to me that I owned nothing. Everything under her roof and on her property belonged to her, including all my clothes and toys. I was welcome to leave any time I chose, as long as I left behind everything she owned.

I was also taught that my actions were not my own, they were a reflection of my mothers ability to raise me. Don't forget children should be seen and not heard. Oh yeah, and my mother repeatedly told me that she wished I had been a girl.

So you think a black eye hurts? pfft, try psychological torture.

Luckily, I turned out to be naturally gifted and much, much smarter than anyone else in my family so I eventually realized on my own what a horrible person my mother was, since no one else bothered to tell me.

I hated school.  Lazy + 80+% of grade based on Homework = ... Doh!

Most schools are horrible, base everything on busywork just so the teacher still has a job.

Elessar, what the hell kind of school makes people get a paper signed if it's C- or under?

Hey Elessar, hang in there. It's pretty hard going through school if using the comp too much, so even tho mad at your father and I hate to admit it, they're always right and a ban is the perfect solution >.<

I'm on a weeks ban atm but I find it easy to work around my dad since my mom doesn't care that much about it.

nvm, get your grades up and put a smile on your father's face and come play :)
