NWN & NWN 2
« on: June 27, 2010, 06:37:45 PM »
Hey guys is anyone playing both NWN or NWN2? I've just got back and finished my 3rd year at university and was curious as to whats happening here? I take it GS is down as per usual, my server obviously is, and I would assume throbbleserv is still going.

I was considering playing NWN2 single player and online. Is it worth it? Is it fixed for multiplayer? Does anyone play it?

Throbbleserv is indeed still running and I've added some fun things since you last visited, including a fully scalable set of quests where the creature's levels, the treasure, the gold/xp rewards and the DCs of locks/traps/saves/skill checks all scale to the level of your PC. Look for Sir Aelthas the Purple Dragon Knight in the Guest Quarters in Smith Hold City Center. He'll get you started.

A couple days ago I also added a new device to the Public Forge called the M.O.R.T.E. which has a lot of potential for fun times.

Nothing has changed about NWN2. Obsidian has moved on to fuck up another sequel, Fallout: New Vegas. Potentially a 3rd franchise for them to kill.

I happened to really enjoy the single-player NWN2 campaign and found the two expansions really good as well.  I think it's worth while playing as a single player game.

I don't have Win 7 but I hear there is no problems as far as conflicts or anything like that.

Hey fella's.

Is there still an NWN 1 community playing (servers etc)? I tried NWN2 for a while but I did not like it. Man I miss the old Godspire NWN1 days with the Marauders roaming and rocking the spire. How's Busdriver doing and Talon?

Mercy was hanging out on ThrobbleServ yesterday, Cuchulann, Throbble and I play on Arelith occasionally. Haven't seen Bus or Talon in quite awhile.

I'm still around. I play on Amia and Arelith as well. Also pop on Throbbleserv daily to say hi and do quests. :D

Last time I actually bothered to look, most servers left were RP's and they were still getting decent numbers. I was never much of the RP server type myself, so once GS was gone that was about it for me. I still play occasionally, but when I do, I'm usually playing in the toolset or playing user-created mods. The single player fun never stops with those.

With enough people on, you guys just might coerce me into logging in too. lol

I miss GS, but it got old without a constant stream of newbies coming in.

Hey Crane.  Good to see you.  Thanks for stopping by.  Exactly, GS was ALL about the constant stream of newbies :)

When? This weekend? Keep in mind that Cuchulann can't join until he gets his internet reestablished (he's moved into a new non-fire-destroyed residence recently).

I'm around but busy working on the final Purple Dragon Knight quest (#9) so I'm usually working offline, but if I see anyone on the server I'll be sure to log on.

P.S. Oh, and we had a couple newbs on recently who were just starting out the quest line.

Flattered indeed >=)

You are flattered that you helped bring down GodSpire with a poorly conceived Watchmen-like plot? I don't understand.

lol

But seriously, Godspire was on a slow decline.  Better for it to go down in flames of glory then slowly decay into the fade.  I'm sure we can agree on that.  Also I don't think that the Vemeron episode was the cause for the eventually shuttering of GS, I blame Gamespy for that.  If there were people who decided to leave forever over that then seriously they were leaving anyway. At least HeLL got the joke.  If Elessar can eventually forgive than anyone can!

You can't even spell your own name right. :P

Actually, I honestly.... I think we had a big discussion about all of this sometime, oh say, 4 and half years ago...

Fuck I can't believe it's been that long.

I still play all my original Diablo 2 characters from the day the game came out. I don't really pay attention to the passage of time, it all seems so relative and annoying. Maybe it's the LSD.
