I once walked 84 miles in 6 days around the Ring of Kerry in Ireland, which is mostly mountainous. And on that amazingly brutal hike, I walked 14 miles a day through sheep fields 4 weeks after lambing; we even saved little lambies that had been separated from their moms. Then most days ended at a table in an inn that pretty much served lamb, (as it was the lambing season). It was pretty much lamb, fish, pork, or "blood pudding" the whole way.
The moral I took from that experience is that lamb is the perfect animal: it's the cutest thing on the outside, and the tastiest thing on the inside.
