i opened some dumb crack and it turned to be a trojan downloader -.- that blocked my firewall and kept spamming advertising popups i fixed that problem but it left my desktop icons all odd with background color but i want my transparent icon names back!!!!! dunno how to get them transparent again -.-
this is how the icons look now.. any help?

i did it just gets the background names to white and i though the trojan was gone but it just kepts coming back -.- its command.exe stupid thing pc doesnt even has a month and i have to format it already  :angry:

yes theyre like 20 files (dlls, registry entries and files) spyware doctor deleted em all and it went back to normal but after like an hour it just came back itself

God Tyrael... again!? I second Cletus! Except for the cheap part, it's okay to be a cheap bastard. I know I am.

If it keeps coming back, you're not getting rid of everything, you're still missing something. Either that or it replaced a system file with a different version to suit it's purposes. When you try getting rid of this crap, do it in safe mode, stop it from running if it is, delete it from the registry, and hunt down it's files. Also, don't forget to run scans. ^^

Spyware doctor? Are you serious? Well, that's going to get rid of the spyware and shit... but not the virus... which will likely still run, and still be in the registry. What anti-virus are you using?

Throbble had some malware installed awhile back that couldn't be removed because even in safe mode the file that needed to be deleted was "in use" so it couldn't be removed.

Make a boot disk instead and try booting off that.

Safe mode is the best way to 'try' removing anything, that's all I was saying. And I've taken care of "in use" files before easily. I just renamed them, moved them to the desktop, restarted in safe mode, and deleted.

tried a "unlocker" it "unlocks" programs that are "in use" so you can remove them saved me a lot of time with viruses/spyware etc...

yeah i have that unlocker program, its really good, now my icons are back to normal, its was that restore system function that kept restoring the trojan cos it was in system folder so i disabled it reboot in safe mode used elistara, spybot and adaware se (and even some more)  and seems (and i hope too) its fixed now, no more popups for since like 5 hours so i hope thats it.
at least i can play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic now ^^ till i can get my hands on nwn2 :D
or i could always play nwn2 single player first *grins*

Actually, this may be the very reason that my father in law's computer keeps reverting all the drivers the day after I upgrade them. I didn't even know that horrible excuse for an option even existed. I mean, Microsoft may as well give you a fucking read-only-hard-drive*.

There are way worse default options in Windows.  Take advance write-cache options for hard drives.  If thats enabled and you have a power outtage or system crash, be prepared for corruption on grand scales.
