What do you think is the Best Class

Il Start.  I have a 38 sorc 1 monk 1 pally. You can fit alot of mantle on that build.  :blink:

About that thread > If you mean mage dueler only I don't think there is something to say anymore . Most current build are 38 sorc 1 pal 1 monk and 39 wiz  1 monk .

You can be somewhere original but it would be difficult .

If you mean trying to do some ... allround like mage you can do something with that thread . Giving some advice to people that want and etc but mage dueler only is .... easy to create ( yknow what I mean ) .

Best class for dueling when it comes to mages it's the wizard. The sorceror is weaker because he needs intelligence for his skills, whereas the wizard doesn't need any cha at all.

Try something like 35wiz/3pally/2monk... deflect arrows + saving throw bonuses... :D

A bit difficult to get good AC with that because you won't get any shield . But that can work vs archer ( difficult to build though ) .

for my opinion the best mage is:20 sorc 10 PM 10 RDD (look at taffy)
or there is still my new mage build 35 wiz 4 fighter 1 monk original and strongue MOUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Mage/hider is about the worse to duel. 90ac/700-800hp/30+str/50+ab/80+spellmantles/26caster/uncanny/120+concentrate/combatcasting/epicspells

If used right, there isn't much that beats it. Thing that do beat it is a ranged 50+sr monk with 80ac, with uncanny or 110+spot.

This isn't exact a good build to do mage duels with either, it wins but hiding to avoid spells isn't something common for mage duels. You always can melee a pure mage vs mage with 50 ab, deals 80+ damage anyway. But I don't think you'll get much mages duels if you do that :P

If you want to make a living fortress you best make a 88+ac sr monk/2sd/1wiz with 120hide or so, can resist spells, has high ac/dam, and can use hips too. Bit more wizard allows dispels as extra, pretty good against buffers.

Those builds are about the strongest, but "best", I don't think that does exist in nwn, just like there isn't a "best" player.

Agree. To use deflect arrows and still having good ac you need enough wisdom. It's way cheaper to get stilled spells and useing heavy armor/shield and spare statpoints for constitution so you can get high hp/concentrate. Things a mage needs.

Yeah mage hider are really strong . About that dispell thing it's pretty usefull vs WM when no PM . In a build like mage hider some ward would be usefull instead of the common hell ball .

mage hider are strongue but seriusly.........do you really tink there funny there is no fun about alwais hiding in a mage duel for my opinion its just bored i already dueled mel when she ad a build like that that duel ws boring

It's, you lose the duel before you started. Well that's boring yes.

Best duels are still againts poeple with a build that can make a close fight to you.

Well, you mantle and when the other want to dispel you hide and dispel your opponent. If you move a bit on top of it you can be pretty nasty with that, and win a load of time.

All I can say, it works. Any mage I dueled was way easyer with that hider than with a normal mage. Mages it beats include (but isn't limited to :P) talon, maxou, kristie. Maybe I never beat them with a normal one.

Still a hider/monk that's well made is immortal to that mage.

Your only immortal when you have a range wep. Every mage hates to see a sling or darts or a bow etc. Becuase the shilds are useless and you really don't need to go multi-class with sorc or wizards.
I can make a really good lvl40 wizard. I don't need ab or "high" ac
anykind of mage is ment to focase on Spells and nothing more.

u cast mantle/ when other mage starts dispelling u shoot and then cast mantle again

hmm that would take too many rounds no?

jeeez you guys, get away from the monk! most likely your going to be putting more to int and con than wisdom so that doesnt work. my mage has 82 ac(87 w/epic mage armor) with 29sorc,10pm,1fighter

how so? i use auto still to be able to wear armor and shield without armor and fighter is the best way to get it.
