this gotta stop this player list with the classes on is stupid the noobs
and ppl are copying chars :glare: everyone that got good chars
sees others that have copied them and thats is lame :glare:

I kinda agree, its gets quite annoying. Im not sure what a good use for the player list is...

Yea, you know that screen where you go and pick which character you want to login with? If you look at upper right corner, there's a tab where it lists all the players currently on that server as well as the classes/levels for each person.

I was thinking about this problem earlier actually. Here's an idea I kinda got from another server called Newbies Welcome. What happens is when you connect, it takes u to Hyloth Inn and from there u have to click on a portal to take u to the PvP arena which is actually a different server. So when you click on the Player List, you see just the names of the people who are in Hyloth Inn and not the people in the PvP. This might stop the copying though I can't say for sure.

It's not a problem at all. Knowing class combination is probably less than 1/3 of a good character.

no its not a problem at all, because they would still have to choose there own feats, weapon, skills, spells(if applicable) so knowing someones class combo is no big deal at all. actually i think its good that you can do that because if you want you can go and look at it for ideas on builds. i mean with my builds, no two are the same. even the two level 40 aa's that i have. both of them have about 30 levels of aa but one uses bard instead of sorc(frankly i think the bard one is better.... hmmm.... if i get my sis off it i can steal it

actually no it doesnt, if i took it, i could seriously win with it, i mean it! oh and i forgot this on my last post. the newbies welcome server only does that because he claims that "it is too big to appear on gamespy", but then again your prob right because ive seen servers way bigger than that on gamespy.

1) Player list is useful if you want to know if a friend is on.
2) classes of other people, come on... thats not even 1/3

3) you need to have an idea to start, its good to have that option.
4) Newbies welcome doesn't intentionally use the first server (hyloth inn) as a player list block. they use it because they have many servers to go to from that login.

4b) it IS bigger than gamespy can handle. servers: at least 5.

Whoa whoa whoa, you guys have twisted my words. I never said they used Hyloth Inn to block people from looking at the player list. I just noticed it and thought it was clever (intentional or not). And I do know that they have lots of areas so big that they require different servers. Before I made myself comfy in GS and called it my 'home', Newbies used to be one of the few servers I played in occasionally.

Well, my idea was to build a serious flaw or two into every dueler I make. Then if someone manages to copy my build I know what their weakness is and I can grab one of my other dozen builds to exploit it, convincing the copier that the build is useless and not worth keeping!

Whit trying to get full copy's they will never reach anything. How would they know to make well use of something they don't understand (if they can't make it

) Getting idea's from someone else does help, but that's not wrong, who says you were the first whit it and did you copyright it?

From that point they learn to build. Nothing wrong then.

Anyway I think this kind of talk about copy or lame dueling/builds are things that aren't worth to talk much about. It's always the same. It depends on the other player(s) if the game is fun or not.

Well for all those that now chit chat about the player list I can say for sure that that's not what Rose meant by copying, because I don't believe he knew about that untill today (like me

The thing is copying builds in general, I mean how pissed did hubba get after everyone stole his build, not sure which one that was, but str cleric then something

Personally I think most of us are able to come up with the opponents build right away after a duel (but I don't care to ponder on that if the opponent gets killed easily

).

The thing is when some actually copy builds, feats are easily guessed, skills too and with the player list I now know too much.....

well ok, who cares anyway. There aren't enough prestige classes to make pvp builds unique anyway. The only build I have seen that no one else has (according to me

) is mo's char, bones. I had intended to make a disarmer hehe, but he jumped in there before me

Lol 420 my store can kick your builds ass. mouahhahaha. But about that char coping, get real. Thats how people get good. And if they copy your build, that means your build is awsome so take the DAM complement
