1.64 released :D
« on: October 07, 2004, 02:25:38 PM »
Finally I was asked to update to 1.64 by bioware, so I guess this means 1.64 has been released, yay

23,4mb zipped

abnormally big patch

So, is 1.64 the new version number?

A question for Talon: When will Godspire be upgraded to the new version?

A question for Doriath/Marauders: depending on the answer to the question for Talon,  what shall we do about Saturday's battle if most folks have upgraded to 1.64, but the Godspire hasn't (hopefully a non-issue)?

Right now I'm putting off updating Throbble's and my computers so we can still access GodSpire. Hopefully GodSpire will be updated soon. I can't wait to see what's included in the new patch!

Blood Angel, did we get Troglodytes, Bulettes and 3 new skys all in one patch!?!?

*starts hopping back and forth*

I've got a faliure on dowloading it 3 times so now I'm just hoping it'll actually finally save the file in my nwn folder so I can find my problem.

I'll add the 1.64 version changes :)

yeah it's pretty much and all clunched together, got hard to read, but one thing I noticed was that it said: "- Fixed an issue that was causing the "Greater Shadow Conjuration Web" spell to have a DC of 127. Should also fix the DC for other spells that also appear on a sub-radial menu."

don't think shadow spells going through mantle is fixed, although I might have jumped over a few spaces because it was hard to keep track off with all that stuff.

Oh my God. The beta patch only takes 6,5mb. I'm so afraid of what to do >.<
Need the patch, but it stops all the time. beta would be easy to get, but then I'd maybe be getting the wrong file. Gez, ok a reboot and if it doesn't work to download then I'll just try with the beta version from bioware.com

ok, from what I've checked I think that the patch from the bioware site (6,5mb) and the one the updater tells me about (23mb), well they look a lot the same.
believe it's the same description of changes and now that I've updated with the 6,5 version it's not telling me to update anymore. Furthermore they haven't added the 23mb patch to the site, so I'm crossing fingers and hoping the 1.64 beta 3 version works

bad thing is that I can't check the update I've got because gs runs with another version.

aww, just got promted bout the damn patch :(, now I have to get the 23mb for the 5th time

Do they like put me on hold or something.... checked my speed with a bit demanding cs server and I was bumping around 100-300kbps, but I'm still not getting past the 9%...... it's stopped at 47%, 50%, 3% and 9%. this is like the most annoying thing ever....

christ this patch system works like hell!! I say work with 1.62 during the battle cuz I'm soo not gonna get it till next week when it just cuts me off like this..... THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE MADNESS :(

They say they fixed the 127 DC for spells on the sub-menu but they didn't mention the arcane/divine 127 DC bug... I'm going through the readme and it looks like we are going to have to test a LOT of stuff to see exactly what is fixed and what isn't.

Good news for my heavy armor wizard:

"Fixed problem with the "Automatic Still" feat not working correctly with sub-radial spells 9e.g. Shadow Conjuration)"

very cool!

As for downloading the new patch, consider the fact that the patch was just released so EVERYONE is trying to download it and the file itself is much larger than the average patch.

I feel that it's so bad that they didn't include the patch on the site, but however miro found a way. dunno bout his 27megs thing cuz it wouldn't show up, but I found a 58meg crit rebuild version 1.64 =D.
So happy, now it won't stop all the time. It didn't take a long time to download..... it just stopped

*thanks for showing me the way miro, really made my day after all these STOP I've been getting :P*

I keep trying to download the patch to the server - its 120MB for the linux dedicated server patch.
It should download in seconds, but i keep gettting corrupt download at 75%. Guess bio servers under high load.
Anyway - im still trying to update. So when i can get the update, we will be done.

here's a question:

will you be running 1.64 on sat? it's a big patch and maybe some won't be able to get it.

Its 23MB.
Noone has an excuse not to download 23MB. Its only a few hours on dialup.

Also - they have pulled the linux patch. seems like they fucked it up and need to remake it. Grrrrrrr.............
So - GS WILL have the patch saturday, if its released, otherwise we wont.

it seems the normal update is a pain in the butt, try the critical rebuild thing if you get a message about it when it stops.

the new patch changes a few things which make me have to rebuild chars.

Divine Power: Gives you the attack bonus that of a fighter of the same lvl with 18 str.
Now ofcourse it's been bullcrap with us getting 10ab from a dp at lvl 37 cleric because a fighter at the same lvl would only have 5 more ab since ab growth is the same with all classes after 20 lvls.

So when I usually get 9ab from a dp, I now got 4. Just a little heads up for you guys.

*still crash*
