Since my idea was booted from GS general ill post it in here since it realtes to Doraith. I i think it would very useful to have a password so only certain Doriath people would know it and be able to access it (to keep other clans form seeing). Just a idea for the future. Not to be taken as spamming.

Sorry to reply in Doriaths forums but I think it is a great idea to password the clan forums so clans can use them to discuss strategy, tactics and recipies!

However, if that happens, there should be a "Clan Common Forum" for non-clannies to post clan related topics and for clan members to post topics that they was all clans to see.

I don't think we can set passwords, but we might be able to something. The first way I thought of would be a maintanance nightmare (what will all the turn-over in the clans, we'd have to update it all the time). There are probably other ways to do it though.

A humble suggestion would be to use premission masks, and temporarily assign the leader of the clan the ability to set/unset these masks.

Ya, it says Forum Led By: Hubba Bubba, Anheg. That means we are Admins of this forum(same thing as moderators). Though im still wondering why there is a blank space instead of it saying A Godspire Clan

Can't set passwords? Why not? Even that crap of Proboards you can set passwords.

And otherwise make groups for the clans so only those clanmembers can join it.

Much as I hate how many old threads Pang is dredging up, this one actually prompted me to take a look at all the new goodies in the Admin tool that came with Xen's upgrade - it turns out it's quite easy to set a password in the new version of the forum software. So, if a high-elf would devise a password and PM it to me, I can lock your fourm with it.
