Maybe we should do away with the Title of King.

When Doriath was restarted one of the rules that we stressed was that the king was to have just as much authority, no more and no less, than the high elves.  Even though that point is made clear and everyone knows the rule the title king, like it or not, gives that person more control/respect.  So why do we even have the name? (Open to all suggestions for or agienst this idea)

I think only a Council of High Elves should rule the clan. The King title not only is useless but it also could be an element of controversy in the future (if not in the present  :P )



NOTE: im srry for Hubba, i think he would be a worthy King, whatever that means  :blink:

Problably but i still think we need it. Adisku cant just give it away like that. If he resigns from the title of king the high elves should vote on the new one. Especialy since Hubba was made king bcause he ASKED to be.

i say keep the king title, but make it more as a Vice Pres role
-if you look in the Constitution, the VP's role is to break the ties in the Congress....so why not adopt that role for the King. King would have just as much say in the matters as he does now.....

Consider this:

Always have an odd number of High Elves including the "King". When a decision needs to be made that requires a vote from all High Elves, the King is not allowed to vote. Though the King may make his opinions on the vote known.

However, if the vote is a tie, then the King gets to make the deciding vote. That equalizes the power of the King while giving the person who holds the title different duties that distinguish the possition. In this way, the King is unique but shares equal authority/responsibility with the other High Elves.

If Adisku HAS to leave as King then Hubba should be the new King because he took the opportunity, that's how it works. Can't whine bout it like that Jek so stop it. all you did was act like a fool when you said hubba hadn't done anything BECAUSE HE HAS!

Anheg and Hubba are both worthy of the title, but Hubba took the opportunity and therefore you everyone should back off. I support Adisku, but since he left THIS is how it SHOULD be.

The day before Hubba became king I had heard from some people, not mentioning names, that Hubba and a couple of other high elves were not doing to much to help the guild... Hopefully you can understand why I was shocked when I came on the next day to see Hubba as King.  I surely did not mean for anyone to take any offence in the matter, Hubba is still my friend and I will admit that I acted out on some wrong information.  My apologies.
