Blizzard posted an article about themed builds which includes a video of a pretty bad-ass melee wizard (Mo, I'm looking in your general direction). Looks like a very viable build if you have the equipment for it.

Ya looks good.  Though he mentions he has 400k dps so you know...
My melee Wizard is built to be a tank with high survivability.  I think he does pretty well at that.
