Seems as though people lose their managers and in some cases they don't wanna relog and have to reset spells or for whatever reason. Not only would you get a Duel Manager on login but either have something that dispenses them or make an option in Belog for replacing the lost Duel Manager?

Two options would be to make the Duel Manager undroppable, which is my preference.

The other option would be to make an OnItemUnaquired script that would destroy any Duel Manager that was dropped and recreate it in the PCs inventory. This option would allow people to get rid of the Duel Manager if they went on a different server.

I think this second option would be ideal for the rule books, sent runes and DM Guardian items as well.

no dms can not destroy items on the floor as far as i know- they can however pick them up(duh...) and put them in another place like a trashcan in the dms hangout(there isnt really one there, well there wasnt last tiem i saw the dms hangout) or sumplace....

Another reason for the dispenser idea is that, well we all know how many different countries log into GS and I think it would be fair that we offer translated versions of the rules and guides. Again something to make the Sent duties just that much easier and guilt free.

First, I disagree that it would be "fair" to pretend we support other languages. DMs and Sents don't speak them, so how would we arbitrate between a German speaker and a French speaker? A modicum of English (even if it is ungrammatical and misspelled) is a requirement on GS.

Second, even if we limit ourselves to the languages Bioware (half-assedly) supports, this is still a totally impracticable idea. As a professional in the world of Having Text Translated, I have a good idea of the effort required to translate and then maintain the translated versions of everything: it's very, very costly. My God, we can barely spell in English, we have no hope of getting it right in French, Italian, German, or Spanish.

Alternatively, I could make it so when you drop rulebooks or duel managers you are instantly booted.
That would prevent idiots from dropping them in the first place

They can, angelita can destroy objects (even the light in angband and so), and she's is a perfect trashcan, picking things up when possesing her and she disapears when you leave her destroying anything she picked up. I also use her to empty belogs inventory time to time so he can keep doing his second job. ( amazing how much GS books I move when I do that )

I've a simple request, nothing related to the duel manager but having to do with the droppage of items.

Like the Duel Manager, can you add a 'null' unique power on the rule books so that ppl won't get duplicate copies? It's a bit annoying for my mage to be carrying 15 copies of the guide and the rulebook... <_<
Yes I'm finally back...though I'm not very well-known but I digress...

Yeah... heh or like, make them undroppable and check to see if they have them when they log in, but if they have more than 1 of any, get rid of the extras? Is that possible, O mighty scripters of GS? :P

why would you save your char with the books, why would you even save your char while on gs

Alignment changes to make a char... items... hehe

I dunno how to make an NPC that can change alignments yet so if I could I wouldn't have to save on GS =P

It would be very simple to destroy all GS items on entry then recreate them. You wouldn't have to alter the existing items in any way. In fact, it would be quite easy to destroy the items Belog picks up automatically too.

This has nothing really todo with the duel manager dispenser, but i was reading over this topic, and it gave me the idea to ask if belog could NOT take your original items when you ask for his, i get quite annoyed when i want just 1 gs item, and i go to a place to stach my items, like angbad, or doriath, and i find somone has stolen them, so i have to reload my char and do it all over again, it is quite annyoying, and i see others pissed off about it too <_<

Shil, I hear you, but when i put this suggestion forth, the answer was that some players are overburdened if you give them back their gear.

It would be nice, though...

Just stick your items in some corner in the Farm, no one ever goes in there except me and I won't touch your items.

i just wonder why the GS items that are acquired on log in take up soo much space...i have an entire inventory "page" free, i'll get all the books in it, but then the Duel Manager goes in the next "page"....*has lost items THAT HE MADE that way to make "room" for the Duel Manager* <_<

Why would you bring in any items beyond what you use to duel in GodSpire?

Even with an archer I only fill up 3 inventory screens with arrows, still got 3 empties. GodSpire is not a role playing server, it is a PvP server, adjust your character accordingly.

i do that, i'm just saying why it wouldn't auto-attempt to fill one "page" with the GS stuff. but i did/do (not sure if i fixed it) have a character that literally have 2 pages of GS items <-is for the delete all GS books/DMs on login...seeing as it removes the DM if you have one

*btw: speaking of scripting....why is there a Reportaller item on the docks
