I'd say it went rather smoothly.

The reason for the change is that we were using a cracked version of Invision.  It was an old and out of date version.  I wasn't about to buy a license to use Invision.  SMF had the best conversion utility, the one for phpBB3 sucked.

So now we are on the latest version of SMF.  Also I can now use the latest version of MySQL, cause before it was breaking Invision pretty badly.

There's a few differences here and there, ie. now inline attachments.  Though if someone finds a plug-in to offer that let me know.

Oh no, I understand - that was an absolutely ancient version of Invision, although definitely not the oldest that I've had to deal with before, but that doesn't make SMF any less weird to transition too. :p (I also just like complaining sometimes ;) )
