Uh... you appear to be suffering some kind of temporal confusion - Transformers predates Iron Giant by nearly 15 years. From wikipedia:

"The Iron Giant is a 1999 animated science fiction film"

"The Transformers was an American cartoon ... Original run: September 17, 1984 ÃƒÂ¢?? November 11, 1987"

I was talking about the kid from this movie and his relationship with the transformer. Did this relationship appear in the old transformers cartoon aswell?

Yes, both in the original cartoon and the comic book series there was a kid with a special friendship with Bumblebee. The kid and his family are straight out of the comics in fact.

But if we want to talk about little boys and their giant robot friend I would have to say that Iron Giant is in fact a thinly veiled rip-off of Gigantor.

We also have a ton of the toys from both Beast Wars/Machines series - including several of Black Aracnia because she's such a bad ass. No one, of course is nearly as cool as Optimal Optimus.

They should make a Hobbit movie. I loved that book and it's much better then Lord of the Rings. =)

They are making a Hobbit movie. However Peter Jackson won't be directing it cause he asked the studio for way too much $$. We'll have to wait and see.

Harry Potter was good. If you dont read the books but watch the movies it rocks. It cut alot of key parts of the story out IMO. But its very visually appealing. Still a good movie.

Also Transformers pwns! Going to see it again tomarrow!

HP 1-5 are all horrible. They all end up ending basically the same way. The new one even felt like a filler as I was watching it.

The only storyline development is my favorite character got zapped by the chick from Fight Club.

I hate puns but: Looks like this thread "transformed" into a Harry Potter discussion.

The only thing I didn't like about the Harry Potter movies was watching Richard Harris slowly dying while trying to play Albus Dumbledore in the second movie. I mean, seriously man, it's obvious that guy is not long for this world and his wheezy death-rattle performance completely distracted me from the movie.

Thats true, but he did it for his grand-daughter. I thought his performance was exceptional to be honest. But that is just what I pictured dumblodore to be like. But I like the movies alot. I think because I like the books so much, but *shrugs* everyone has their own opinion.
