New Computer

Here it is:

MSI K9N6GM motherboard

2gb DDR2 533 memory

AMD Athlon 64 4200

GeForce 7600 GT

The sound is on board Realtek,  which is really great.

Motherboard/processor came in a barebone package which included tower, 450w power supply and a fan for $280.
2 sticks of memory, bought on ebay, for $100
Video card $180

One thing I over looked was the newer SATA connection for drives.  In my old system I had 4 drives that ran off IDE. The new motherbaord only supports 2 IDE devices (one connector on the board).  So it's not an all in one system as my old one was but eventually I'll upgrade to SATA.

I never thought I'd have a fan attached to my video card...or even have 2gb memory. All I need is a monitor and a mouse and my old one is up and running.

Cool.  Though how come you didn't opt for a dual core cpu?  The X2s can be had starting at just over $60.
