What are you playing?
« on: March 12, 2007, 10:22:23 AM »
Well, not too long ago, I was playing Dragon Warrior III for NES, on an emulator. However, I stopped mid-adventure from other things like my friends and stuff on forums distracting me from it. I'll pick it up again soon hopefully.

However, right now, I am currently playing The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. Only since it's for DOS, I had to pick from a small list of soundcards, and the sound is horrible. The midi is decent, but the sound just skips and stutters, and I have no idea what people are saying or what half the sounds are. If anyone knows how to remedy this problem (and yes I went through and tried all the cards with different settings) I'd be appreciative.

So, what are you currently playing?

There is only one way to fix Daggerfall. Throw it in the garbage can.

Aside from needing to constantly run and jump everywhere (so your run and jump skills don't atrophy) you will find that your character constantly slips between the steps on stairs and falls into a void.

Here is a list of games I've played through recently on my new computer:

NWN (Wyvern Crown of Cormyr)
NWN2
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Vampire: Bloodlines
Warcraft III + expansion
C&C: Generals + expansion
DOOM 3 (Didn't play through expansion again because it sucked)
Quake 4
Ghost Master
Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri
Sam & Max episodes 1-4

It's quite a good game, though a bit boring as long as you're stuck in towns.

Ahaha, nah. I am riding a horse actually, so much quicker than running. =) As for the falling into a void, I have a patched version with all those fixes and more. ^^ The only thing I need, is the goddamn sound fixed. And that it exits out on me randomly, but, that's not too much of a concern with how much I save it.

Maybe I should've used a DOS emulator... but goddamn... I really don't want to download all over again. (Torrent + Lack of seeders/peers = Slow as fuck)

second time..... :P i beated FFVIII like 5 times and FFVII like 9 xD but that was years ago when i had dial up and no job so i could only a game from time to time i beated resident evil 2 like 9 times which each char lol, on FFIX i got to the last boss like 3 times i killed the typical powerful hidden boss of the end (dont remember its name was hidden somewhere) but i could never kill the eternal darkness boss so i just gave up :P

right now ive played a LOT of games i keep dling those free mmorpgs but most are just the same or take hell long to lvl.
right now im playing:

RYL (risk your life) im about lvl 30 assasin
phantasy star online blue burst on a free server, lvl 79 ranger
Lineage 2 C5 on a high rate server
Rakion, its kinda good but takes hell long to lvl im lvl 4 archer :o
Gunz
Onimusha 3: Demon siege
and Phantasy Star Universe on Ps2 (only story mode cos you have to pay monthly and i hate that :o)
and by tomorrow ill have FFXII, Rogue Galaxy and God Hand for Ps2

maybe ill pay monthly for a mmorpg in the near future cos all decent mmorpgs have p2p and besides guild wars that bored me in like a month the rest of free mmorpgs are the same just lvl, lvl and more lvl and it even takes hell long to lvl with the same repetitive action and about 1 skill each 10 lvls :o
