That would imply that assholes are some kind of anti-matter equivalent of sarcastic, insulting people. I maintain they are in fact one and the same!

Stating the obvious?

The fact that they are one in the same, is even more a reason it is more difficult to work on them.

Oh, none taken.

That they are the same? No shit!

That was my original point to begin with, but... looks like you missed it, not the other way around.

The fact that they are the same, is why an asshole can be so much harder to insult.

Heh, that wasn't what I meant. I was commenting on the difference between our two quotes in my last post. (Hence the Freud comment.)

And that is exactly why people have difficulty communicating with you sometimes. You don't pay very close attention to detail.

"one and the same" = well known saying (Definition)

"one in the same" = some kind of strange sex-act HeLL wants to perform with Anheg, prompting Freud humor from other forum members

Yes, I am an asshole. And you dubbed yourself one as well, what is your point?

Talking about how being insulting and being an asshole are the same is what the original discussion topic was. 420 told me these were the same, I agreed, which is why I said before him, that that is why I said those type of people, who are insulting (also considered assholes), are probably less likely to be insulted by most of the insults non-insulting people (people who are not assholes) are.

So essentially, 420 told me they were the same, which would only further my point, not argue against it, but told me he disagreed as well. He could disagree with my statement as it was, with my putting something in there that was not so fully detailed as to be specific per person, but he disagreed with the other part, which is more or less a contradiction on his part.

Then he nitpicked on the fact that I said "one in the same" after he said "one and the same" which is completely irrelevant to the points previously brought up. He implied that this is my mis-reading, when in fact, that is how I always thought it was said and pronounced it, because "in" sounds like "and" when said lazily, and with the way my parents speak (calling Washington Worshington, and grocery growshery etc.) it was easy for me to learn some things, such as this, incorrectly. However, he assumed this as a mis-reading of his own statement. I read it correctly, I just said it how I knew it. Simple as that.

Sorry for the run-ons, bad habit.

So... what were your points again 420? Or are you still just agreeing with me?

I implied no such thing!

What I said was that you "don't pay very close attention to detail" and you prove my point by inferring that I meant you mis-read it. I was, in fact, talking about your latter reason for misunderstanding the quote.

Are you drunk or something? Telling me that I don't pay very close attention to detail, yet having that be about words and phrases, has to do with reading. In this case, you make it sound like a mis-reading, by pointing out your previous statement before it.

Were you? Do you have any proof of this, or is it just an empty unbacked claim, said only after the fact?

And if you really did mean that, you would be contradicting yourself, since the misunderstanding I explained was my parents, and not my own. I clearly said it was them who said it and understood it incorrectly, and I knew it perfectly as they knew it, so therefore, it would not be my misunderstanding after all. So... who doesn't pay very close attention to detail? Or am I... "misunderstanding" again.

Despite this, I do not see how this little instance dealing with me supposedly "misunderstanding" a phrase said has to do with anything, unless you were to imply that one instance of something, means it's always that way.

Sounds like backpedaling to me. First changing the conversation from what we were discussing before, and now disregarding comments on it, and then nit-picking about a phrase and attacking my character.
