NWN2 Lead Designer J.E. Sawyer posted this on the Bioware forums today: deity selection, IT'S IN THE GAME!

All they have done is make the free text field for deity entry a dropdown selection.
It has no additional purpose other than to stop people making spelling mistakes for their chosen deity, and preventing people from entering their own made-up deity

It also allows servers to create their own dropdown lists of custom deities with custom restrictions. Most players don't even realize there is a deity field in NWN and that makes Father Phastus cry.

The Forgotten Realms campaign puts so much emphasis on deities I was surprised they didn't focus on it more in NWN. After all, in the Forgotten Realms, if you die without a patron deity your essence is added to the Wall of the Faithless surrounding the fortress of Kelemvor on the Fugue Plane. No one wants that to happen!

$35 D&D Books are a bit out of my pricerange considering 1. Im Poor and 2. I dont play P&P D&D.
