Most likely, but not most definately, it's your video card, it probably needs an update, even if it is a new comp. Check the windows updater (if its windows) and then if you didnt find any updates, go look for an update, try omega or just search for your card. There is also the possibility you could have your hardware acceleration set too high, or too low, might wanna check that out too... ; ) GL.

I have a new computer, but I had to spend $240 on a new card to play GW and have my vidio on NWN set to anything but lowest.

GeForce BLLLLLLLOOOOWWWWWWWWS my Geforce 4 Ti (something) did about 5.6-9 fps on NWN with all the lastest Nvidia drivers...i "acquired" a ATI Radeon 9700 and now i do anywhere from 40-56fps
 -and i don't like AMD cause they suck at naming...i don't give a f00k if it runs like P4-3ghz (yet it's runs at about...2.8ghz) that's why i hate them, u don't get what u paid for <_<

To be more specific the GeForce 4 Ti "blows". Cuchulann and I both had GeForce 4 Ti and they both burned outb (overheated). His was still under warranty and got a replacement which promptly burned out. The 4 Ti is probably the worst video card ever made. My GeForce FX (backward compatable with 2x AGP) that I got for $30 is the best video card I have ever owned.

Ya, about a year ago, I had the unfortunate reality of getting a Magistr virus, if you know what one is, you know why I was so unfortunate. I had to practically rebuild my entire computer, so I did, got my fav brands from newegg and set everything up, after that I only have 1 part of my old comp left... my piece of shit monitor... rofl. I dont even have the same tower... the old plastic piece of shit is up on my computer part shelves (too many parts, too many shelves). =D

nVidia cards are the best ive used ever, ive tryed Radeon and a few other random name ones.. but they sucked. Not gonna leave nVidia any time soon. Cost more, but when it comes to PC's I wont buy cheap.. Its like buying after market controllers and memory cards for PS2.. Its just not the same.

I agree 100%
I used to buy ATI but they caused me too much grief. Never had any problems with nVidia. ATI may be better now but like Xen I aint switching anytime soon.

I miss the days of the 3Dfx Monster cards, I put 2 together to make the "Mega-Monster" card and had a great time with Quake 2!

3Dfx had the entire arcade industry as their customers, then eveyone stopped playing arcade games and they dissapeared.

Definitely a strange story.  They had the best cards. Glide was a billion times faster than Direct3D.  I was running Unreal at 1600x1200 7 years ago.  I guess it was the arcade demise coupled with bad development strategy.  Their last cards had 2 or more GPUs on them.  Probably just got too expensive for them to compete.
