This might sound stupid. BUT IM PISSED OFF. i was playing super smash brothers on my pc then my brother wanted to play. So im like sure il go get my joypad.  So i take the computer off my shelf and drop it from about 3 inchs off the ground.  a little sound made, nothing serious. Then i turn on my muha f'in comp and both my drives are gone.  DVD drive and CD RW drive. and my dvd drive was 400 $.  SO CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OR IM F****. and i cant play nwn also....

PPS. open up the case and ensure that your IDE cables aren't loose.

most likely the drive is FUBARed now-if it's still under warranty u might want to get a new one. if not...go spend about $70 US Dollars and buy a new one :P

that heppened to me years ago i just download a normal cd driver and the D: was back at my pc , im not using cd rom drives to play nwn i use a program called alcohol and mount the hotu image on a drive the prgram makes  :P

another thing is just call the vendor and say it doesnt work they may can send u the drivers if its not a matter of disconnected cables

Most likely the EIDE cable loosened (or fell out) from the motherboard. Open the case, make sure the computer is off but plugged in, this will allow you to ground youself on the computers metal frame (to prevent static electricity damage).

Check the cable that runs to your D drive (it probably also connects to E), unplug the cable and replug it into each of the drives and the motherboard.

i've just never heard of PROPERLY inserted cables falling out-it's a bitch for me to get the cables out of my pc

AS funny as you guys are, ITS 400$ lmao.  and yes mo it does make iced cappucinos and it hands out candy bars.  But no il try that and get back to you with feedback. Thats alot guys (mostly 420) and thank you khad for your wonderful advice...

Lol well, dont take to much credit cause it didnt work... my ugly computer guy will come in anytime now.  BUT IN THE MEANTIME "throws around a chair" I WANT NWN BACK. anybody have a crack, im to lazy to make one.

there are bunchs of websites with nwn cracks just put nwn nocd or nwn crack on google , or look in mscracks there are about all of them or just download a hotu iso (what i did) and mount it in a program called alcohol so u dont need crack either cd drives

Options enough:[ol type=\'i\'][li]If you have an iso of the hotu cd, you can try this emulator (it's free, and works for me)

Or an other emulator program.
[/li][li]Or, search the net for the crack. You rather will find a crack than a full iso of hotu. Not to mention the fat download. In case you can't fin one yourself, you can try thise one:

[/li][li]Or, install linux (or unix with linux emulation) and run the linux client. (doesn't require the cd to run)
[/li][li]Or, plug the ide cable, in and out. (flat 2x20pins connector, probably blue) If your two drive stop working at once (probably on the same cable), it's nearly 100% sure the connector on the mainboard that doesn't connects well. You can also check your bios, to be sure it's not your windows doing crazy.
