List your favorite/least favorite spells
« on: April 26, 2005, 01:13:45 PM »
Hey everyone, while I'm working on the next few creatures I thought I would get some imput for some future creatures I had in mind.

Basically Monster Manual III and the Eberron Campain Setting introduced a new type of creature, Living Spell.

A living spell is a single or group of spells that have somehow gained sentience and permanancy and now wander the land looking for people to kill.

So, I want to make some living spells for GodSpire. Please reply with your ideas for which spell or group of spells would make a neat Living Spell.

AH yeah, sorry I should have posted a couple examples:

Glitterfire
"Glitterfire is a living combination of two spells commonly employed on the war-torn fields of the Mournland -- glitterdust and fireball. Armies made invisible by their allies were outlined through the use of glitterdust and then destroyed by their enemies through the judicious use of fireball. These two energies merged into a single dangerous form that seeks out creatures and annihilates them in a gout of flame."

[no  pic]
Chilling Fog
"A chilling fog is a living cond of cold spell, subjecting its prey to deadly frost."

[no pic]
Sickening Sleep
"The living spell sickening sleep combines sleep and ray of enfeeblement to debilitating effect."

Phantasmal Killer/Negative Energy Burst would be really sweet

Time Stop/Meteor Strom would be very deadly

Acid Fog/and a Summoned Green Slaad would look nice

How about Negative Energy Burst/Iron Horn, weaken then knock down! One of my favorite wizard dueling strategies.

My suggestion is to make some element types...

Fire Elemental with Combust/Meteor Storm

Or maybe, Earth Elemental with Earthquake/Iron Horn or something...

Leave it to Taarna to come up with the most diabolical combination!

I forgot to mention, since this will involve a bunch of custom scripting I won't be using any of the default Bioware spell scripts except for reference so the spells don't need to be limited to NWN spells.

Check out the spells section of the  d20 3.5 System Reference Document if anyone feels adventurous.

Alright Khad, whatever you say. You can have your precious AoE spells, I'll make a SoV/Meteor living spell just because you requested it. (Some people can be so demanding!)

So far the official examples have been one or two spells. So try to keep this within reason, you can make a lag monster but make it a two-spell lag monster.

*rolls eyes* obviously you never spammed Creeping Doom (as in 30 EXTENDED >:} ) as for the ruin/hellball...perhaps that would make a good Living-spell spawn effect  B)

Flesh to Stone + Energy Drain + Harm    =    A lifestealing livingspell, that leaves you petrified and weak, when it's through with you. :diablo:  :diablo:  :diablo: . Perhaps StoneApyr? (Apyr=vampire, ya u get teh point =D)
