I think GodSpire should have cep. why?

I'd have to vote no cause the huge downlaod makes it very hard on people with dial-up.

I said no because I know people on dial-up that can't get it. However if there was a kind of extension (another sever) of GodSpire with CEP that would be pretty cool. However that is unlikely.

I voted "no" for the following reasons:

1. GodSpire currently supports no-expansion players AND players with either or both expansions. The whole purpose is to make GodSpire available to everyone and that would no longer be the case if it required the CEP.

2. GodSpire goes through an intense balancing process whenever a new expansion or new patch comes out. The length of time it would take just to balance all the new weapons in the CEP isn't worth it. Not to mention that GodSpire would now have to track official patches AND CEP patches. UGH!

3. Most of the new weapons in the CEP lack any feats associated with them. No "Weapon Focus: Nunchucks" means no Nunchuck Weaponmaster for instance.

4. Certain content is missing or disabled in the GodSpire mod to prevent hacking. The CEP would probably break a million ways if it was added to the current GodSpire mod. I won't go into any more detail on this part.

5. Just like all Haks, the CEP can cause a lot of lag, especially considering how massive it is.

6. 2 new PC races = a big pain in the butt!

I'd like CeP cuz it's cool enough, but I know it'll never happen cuz GodSpire needs to be accessible for everyone and CeP would only create confusion and aggrivation amongst players that don't post here, and those would be a lot

Well 1) It's not our decision, 2) 420 stated the facts how annoying CEP would be to GodSpire, and 3) "CEP isn't an expansion. It's a bunch of bugs in a hak!"

I know what i'll do, I'll make a server a look a like of godspire and i'll add cep but I wont name it GodSpire I'll name it something else so ppl don't get confuesd

I voted No, because CEP is rediculous as Talon has said before "its nothing but a glorified hak." Its not worth the DL and its a waste of time

There are a ton of glitches in it, and other random bugs. Who wants that? Bioware gives us enough to play with.

and I think you worng on that note its not a waste of time and there are no or not as many probs as you say. OH and if bioware made it (watch they did) there telling as that we don't have somethings and they're giving it to us.

Man... before I ever had the expansions I DLed CeP, once I went Plat, I never did after... hmm... I wonder why? CeP is laggy, and buggy, not to mention would throw out alot of problems, and needed changes... lets just leave CeP for the Uber servers...

ALRIGHT! i've heard plenty you don't want cep in GodSpire so you can stop posting here and closed. sry if I post this poll I didn't know everyones anwser was going to be the same I mean 9 ppl just said the same thing over and over and over again.
have you heard that saying I may be small and weak but i'm not stupid.

Lol, I agree hell, but funny thing Stitch. Bioware did not make the CEP. ROFL, and it is buggy. I play on CEP servers. There is one glitch where all items are black or you cant even see them and there is a hole in your body. Another is where the image of the item is in your inventory and you cant see it, its just a black space...so dont tell me its not buggy. I have and sometimes use the CEP, so dont take me as some neighsayer who doesnt know what hes talking about.

CEP = Community Expansion Pack

Only probem is that its just a bunch of hakpaqs stuck together, so its not even an expansion pack. CHP would be more fitting.

This means that if a server runs with CEP, then you NEED CEP to play there.
As it is, Godspire supports all official EXPANSION packs, and still allows those with just vanilla NWN to play. Not possible with CEP.

Thats the main reason. Other one is that it breaks a ton of balancing stuff, and new weapons dont have focus, etc.

You will never see it on GodSpire unless bioware roll it out in a patch.

won't it take time to make a GS2 on NWN2 cuz for first it's at least a year till NWN2 comes out (December 2005 here) if it doesn't get delayed + if the toolset isn't compatible with NWN1 won't it take time to make GodSpire and script it too?

He wouldnt have to remake the scripts. Revising them would probibly be smart to make them more compatable with NWN2 toolset (whatever it will be).

i use CEP....i've had no bugs/missing artifacts and no lag....
the reason i use it is because u can make a mod look a hell of a lot better

Bioware didn't beta test NWN but they did release a beta version of their toolset to the public. They also released a cool little model viewing program and they would posted creature models and spell graphics that could be viewed with the program. However, since this is Obsidian, they may do things differently.

lol good point... I did enjoy Hotu campaign though, I just wish they would make more "official" mods letting you dig deeper into the planes =).

As for this thread, Stitch if you don't want it to continue just say so, and as for CEP, ya it would be kinda cool, but I think the main point here is that it's just far too much trouble than it's actually worth.
