Problems Hosting Server.

I want to host a server, and I have a port through my Firewall, and everything, but it still does'nt work, even if I shut my firewall off, so I'm assuming it's because of my router. Can anyone help me figure out what to do!?

get it through port 5121 and it should work. On another thread this subject has been dealt with, so you might wanna look around for that I don't remember which one...

This has to do with NWN, not building.
It seems fine where it is.

And 5121 is the default port for NWN, open that port and it should work fine. If you don't know how to open ports, someone can probably help you.

That is the port I have open, but Nathan had told me that it could also be a problem with my router, and I did look around, but seen no discussions on it. I basically thought this would go under Building because it says in the NWN Building description that it is the place to post problems in hosting a server as well. >_<

Have fun reading it, it's long but contains a load of information. In case you really don't find what to do, giving some information like your nwnserver config or the name/maker of your router will help.

Remeber that somethimes it just won't work whatever your try because your line or provider. BUt most of the time this isn't the case, lucky.

You wrote you opened the port through your firewall, but did you open the port through the router, too?

Usually with routers, you do something called port forwarding.  It depends on the model of your router.  Have a look at its documentation, and figure out a way to port forward 5121.

Alternatively, you can make your router a DMZ.

Like said in the thread I linked above (link)  you should forward your 5121 port from the local ip to the wan ip of the router useing it's webconfiguration menu you can acces trough a browser of a computer inside your lan.

I'm still lost... where do I find web configuration? I looked everywhere... I searched through Internet Options too and found nothing. I did get somewhere I think though, and got to some window with Ip/tcp config or sumthin, and let all access get through and it still didnt work so, I dunno what to do.

You gave to search for something called "port forwarding" or "virtual server". Should be something where you give the local-ip and port .
