Obscenity is in the mind of the beholder, so this is a question of personal taste. Some of us are more lenient than others.

I like to take the orginal stance the FCC took when Bono said "Fucking excellent" or some such on an awards show: when used as an interjection, it's not obscene; when used as a command, it is.

Usage plays a lot into it. Is the person calling names or just using expletives? Another "test" is whether it is demeaning others. The final test is, can you stand it for another 5 minutes? If not, freeze them and explain that such language isn't welcome.

Ya, what she said...but everyone swears or slips once in a while, especialy when someone is being stupid. I dont think its a problem unless someoen is using curses for every other word or is telling someone off.

Useing a bad word isn't like blowing a schoobus or so. But if you don't feel ok by what someone is saying, or you think someone else isn't feeling right about it. You can ask person using those words to stop. Just my opinion. And maybe the reazon why poeple can keep curse and swear to me but not to a person near me. I faster think someone else is not feeling well about it than I don't feel well myself. Absence of feelings....

But well, I admit I called someone, dump on gs.  :P
