So what are your opinions on Vista it's out here about a week now, some say it's XP in a new skin others then say it's XP in a new skin sure but it gives better security and they worked out the flaws of XP out and shit...
What you all think??

I'm keeping my old compy and Throbble's compy on 2000 and my new one on XP. When we upgrade Throbble's we'll probably have no choice but to get Vista if we go through Dell.

Really, the only reason I see to get Vista is if games I want to play require DirectX 10. I don't really see any Vista-only games comming out for at least 2 years.

Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate...

I'll upgrade when I get my new computer, but only for DirectX 10. But buying it now would be a deathtrap, first version OS? Ew.

Oooh. I just noticed my compie has a sticker saying: "Designed for Windows XP, Windows Vista Capable." Lucky me. But I bet upgrading to Vista will cost money right?

lol i dunno what the prices are there but here there are 3 prices

Vista home $120

Vista XXXXX   $235

Vista Professional $315

the XXXXX i don't know the name there, hence the XXXXX.

The prices are normal in euro but i took the liberty to set them in USD.

There's 4, Home has 2 versions [Basic and Premium]; Business, and theres Ultimate. No reason to get Vista right now anyway unless you have a GeForce 8800 GTX or 8800 GTS.

I would be more interested in the new Microsoft Office 2007 than Vista. I have no intention of upgrading my desktop or notebook with either but the specs sound sweet, though I have stopped using firewalls, they just interfere too much.

The funny thing is that I had Windows and Norton firewalls going at the same time and apparently that effected my voice in Ventrilo. So now I actually sound like a person instead of a relayed computer voice.
My PS3 Game Library:
Call of Duty 4, Guitar Hero 3, Mirrors Edge, Motor Storm, Resistance 2, Rock Band 2, Soul Calibur 4, Valkyria Chronicles

I use OpenOffice now.  It's free and it's cool.

Have my other harddrive running vista ultimate.

Vista to me is like Xp with some amped up security which gets pretty damn annoying especially when it asks you if you wana run an exe file 3 times. But then again it looks alot like OS X which in my opinion is a good thing.Main problem ive found is for me it hates my computer.Basic app's were fine for me but the minute i went to run a game it seems like unless you have something amazing of a computer your goana be running at shitty FPS rates.Wow was running at 3 FPS while just running around in the outlands.L2 was running at around 2 fps in a town 5 fps outside of one.
