@Mo
Ok, that word isn't correct english,

What I want to say with it is, that some poeple don't have a good sence of perspective.

Having the ablilty to put things in perspective, or to see things in their proper context.

It's for example also usefull to be able to see wrong words in their context, then you still can understand what's said. It helps to communicate with other poeple that are doing an effort to speak in their third langue for example.

Maybe it's an idea to send me a personal message with the corrections next time. It's nice that you try to help me, but you're going to make a lot of posts that are not ontopic this way. In spite of my efforts to type correct english, I know that I still make a lot of mistakes.

@420
It's correct that Bug has a serious prejudical problem. But I wish that all unnecessary things that could cause hostilitys between both server, would disappear or not get created. Including posts with insults in them, or bad jokes. (jokes that are for one side only)

I have the feeling that this post sounds condescending, well, if someone else does feel that too, it's not ment like that. Just in case...

I'm not saying you're fake cuz I don't know you. However if it's possible to walk around with a female character while male, why isn't it possible to make another character on another server? It doesn't change you as a person unless that's what you want. I went on they're server with my wm and they didn't flip even tho I indirectly said I was from GodSpire ('I'm from the no no server :P"), everyone knew what I meant, but it didn't matter, it's just for a laugh. When you say don't be fake and play as a female when male and can't do something else when on they're server it's quite awkward. If you're yourself when you're melisa, then you can be yourself when you're bob.....

Hay I started out with my first character being a female monk. Her name was Briogeoth Lyln. Playing female characters I seem able to act how I want. I can learn more respect when I see through their eyes. It's interesting to see like that. That may not be his reason, but it was mine.

I play as a female too, but that's not what's wrong here. The issue was about no one, well mel atleast, wanted to change chars when going on CM, because that's being fake. This could however solve the problem, cuz you can get on there if you do it that way. It doesn't seem fake to me if you can play as a female character and still be yourself, so why does it seem different when going on a different server with a different char.

Just trying to look at the problem and giving it an answer to try and solve this mess.

My problem with making a new account and character to go there is that it only leads to more paranoia. Think about it from their point of view: some person comes on, hangs out, gets all friendly with the locals, maybe even gets into their confidence, and then you eventually find out it's so-and-so and they're from GodSpire."

I could see how that might piss people off, giving them the idea that we are spying or have some ulterior motive.

Yes that's true if these ppl hate GodSpire, but it's been established that most of these ppl don't, so that shouldn't really be a problem then. If these ppl then hate GodSpire then why care.... let them play on their server and have their fun in their ways. Why want to be on a server if ppl don't like you for being a player from GodSpire?

didn't read thte thread, I just have my opinions and that's it. However if it's necessary for GodSpire players to get on CM, then they should just stop the chit chat cuz it doesn't lead anywhere. Easy solution, go undercover and let ppl like you for who you are, if they don't like your background then it's their problem.
So after then being on the server I can imagine players will talk about how boring CM really is anyway. I played there and shadowfury was on there for a while too. I didn't find it very interesting, and I believe that was the impression from shadow as well.

Conclusion on my part is that all those who want to go to this forbidden place, just go damnit, stop whining and just do it :P

Honestly, there really is nothing to do on CM.  Even though it's PvP, I'm sure that most people go there for the social aspect of it.  So yea, I didn't find it interesting cuz I didn't know anyone there.  However, my recent visits there, it has been rather interesting.  For those of you familiar with Joe Tuber, he's actually a really nice guy.  He didn't know who I was though when I talked with him.  So when you get to know the players there, the place isn't all that bad.  And the best part is (I shouldn't say this since I'm a Sentinel), you can random there and not worry about getting dazed/stoned.  I say this is best cuz there are times when I just wanna have fun on GodSpire with the others but can't do so because I'd be setting a bad example for any newbs and make them think that randoming is acceptable, and it's against the rules .

@Iceycool56
You can random there yes, but if you go far, or do it when the other cleary doesn't wants to play. You can get problems with the dm's and so.

And in GodSpire, I see some sents and dm's random there too, always was like that. It's just to play, but not a good example for newbies that don't even know the rules. Basicly, make that newbies don't see it, and don't random poeple that can't take it as a joke.

But well, I don't think I'm saying anything new with this :P

Khad,
   Yea I know we can random in areas other than the Halls but I'm too lazy to move my arse.  And who am I gonna random?  No one goes into Angband, and I don't want to random a newb.  "Khad, I need a word with you in private, let's go to Angband..."

Tea-Cup (I'd call you Mel but apparently we're on a LM acct name basis  :P )
  At one point or another, we've all seen a Sent random.  Some more than others *cough*Kristie*cough*  :D .  DMs on the other hand are different because the rules don't apply to them.  And yea, I probably could random someone after checking to make sure there are no newbs around, but I'm not because it's still against the rules.  As a Sent, I'm supposed to enforce the rules.  Doesn't it seem.... what's the word I'm looking for... stupid (can't think of a better word) to break rules that I'm trying to enforce?

In one sense I can agree on it, that being if Mo were to do the exact opposite of what the rules say, then no one can stop him or tell him he can't.. disregarding indirect actions as "going on a GS-strike cause of corrupt management" or something similar.. but a DM wants rules to be upheld, and must therefor set a good example. A DM who disregards his own rules and expects players to abide by them is comparable to a parent telling his children to "do as instructed, and not as shown". We know how well that works. B)

The article is an interview with Ken Downie, a.k.a. The Black Dog.. a.k.a. Bugfix the Gnome, owner of Black Dog Towers - Circus Maximus. He's a musician on the side, writing and performing techno.

I don't get the purpose of the add of the article . Was that some try to be sarcastic ?

Or was that to present us Bug in a different maneer than we are used to ? ( paranoid , etc ) .

In the first case it has nothing to do with the thread I guess ( I mean , even if I don't explain it well , I agree with mel with the fact that "hostility" things should be stopped from the GodSpire side . We'd look like wise women and men . )

Wow, that really explains a lot to me about Bug's tenuous grasp of computers and networking. Apparenty some people think a "hacker" is anyone distributing warez made by someone else. He would probably call Mo a hacker for his ability to locate articles about him on the internet.
