the war between the two clans was started for fun I believe, well marauders like to pick on doriath that's no secret :P

Can I be in the war? or do I have to be in doriath?

You have to be in one of the two waring clans. The clan's allies can participate if the sides are uneven, to make them even. That is the only way a non Doriath - Marauder could participate. You are not allied to us, you are not a member, so you can not fight.
