What type of music is primus? Obviously not rock because i have never heard of them.

Primus is basically an insanely talented bass player named Les Claypool. He once tried out for Metallica, but he really wasn't their style. He lives right across the bay from me so I know a lot about him. (In fact some members of Metallica live right across the bay too!)
He is so crazy that his own band can't keep up with him so he had to form multiple bands:
