I thought we were getting around the whole nuclear bomb ban problem by developing non-radioactive giant bombs. Bunkerbusters and whatnot. We'll probably have to fill out all sorts of complicated forms with the UN before we get to nuke anyone.

And the lines at the UN are worse than those at the DMV, especially the Nuclear Capability line!

If one wants to make nuclear weapons the worst thing one can do is make it into a media event, since it's politically incorrect to make such things.  America messed this up  :focus:

The bombs they are refering to in the article are not the same as the reltatively conventional mini-nuclear bombs you are refering to. The mini-nuclear bombs your refering to have been used in Iraq and Afganistan recently to r-out-e out terrorists, delivered via conventional strike aircraft(F 117 ,F 15e). The Bombs in the article are obviously the larger nuclear weapons delivered via ICBM/Nuclear subs/Nuclear strike-aircraft(B2). The giant bombs as u call em.. will never replace the full scale nuclear bombs... because America's large-scale nuclear deterrent must be maintained. And if the current stock become unreliable... they need to be replaced... therefore it is a good thing...

It would be better if there was no nuclear threat anywhere in the world.. but thats not the reality.

Americans don't have a specific accent. It's all multiple accents, as Americans are a mix of people after all. Get your shit straight.

Then once again you have your shit twisted. Not everyone pronounces shit the same here. I am an American, I have always pronounced it as root.

Since Californians are the only Americans with no accent whatsoever  (not counting Los Angeles of course), we pronounce the word "route" differently depending on the context.

Example:

"Bush wants to route out terrorists from his bung hole." (Pronounced "root")

"That stupid hillbilly sent us on the wrong route." (Pronounced "rowt")

However, there are also American songs like:

"I get my kicks on route 76." (Pronounced "root")

It would be perfectly normal for an American to say:

"What rowt do I take? Root 80 or 85?"

"no accent" in itself is an accent. Everyone has an accent in comparison to another.

Well, the English language came from England long before it got to California, so I wouldn't consider some "control group" the master of a language, unless they created it.

Not just californians, random people all over the U.S. It doesn't matter WHERE, it matters WHO.

The French created the English language as we know it today.  See: Normand invasion of England.

The Bard must be spinning in his grave! I always thought Shakespeare invented English or at least he wrote it down first.

Oh wait, Throbble's telling me some freak named Ben Johnson wrote down English first.

Well, now I'm confused, I'll just side with Mo and blame the French for everything. Those cheese eating surrender monkies!

*mocks 420 too* oh wait...

Wrong, seeing as tons of the words originated from elsewhere. Everyone has an accent compared to another, simple as that.

Actually, if you study the history of language, you'll find that modern Americans (in general) sound more like Shakespeare than the modern English (in general) sound.

Isn't he from Wales? Don't they have quite a different accent than British who aren't from Wales.
