I hope England do well aswell, but France will win it this year. They are not one of the top favourites but after the last 2 tournaments, they will want to regain their status as the worlds best team. In terms of players they arguably have the best footballer in the world(Thierry Henry), and perhaps one of the 3 greatest players of all time (Zidane). Its just a tournament made for Henry, its the tourney where he will shine and Frances old dogs will prove there doubters wrong. They have the easiest group, and they always play well in germany; (3-0) victory last time they played the germans in germany. They also have played well in recent yrs against the favourites Brazil. The French team is also starting to gell last nite following a 3-1 victory vs China that should have been 6-1. Englands problem lies up front for me, in that they dont have a player who can (even if they have Rooney) who can penerate defenses and score alot of goals like ronaldo did in the last world cup. On the other hand England perhaps have the best defense and midfield in world football. But its Frances Destiny and Thierry Henry that will win it for them.. overcomming the brazilians, english, crouts, spanish, dutch, argies and italians.

Yeah u might cannixx, but then being english u are definetly biased, secondly it might depend on who you support clubwise. I think most people in the world would take henry now over Rooney.. seeing that Henry only has 4 yrs left at the top if it was a long term thing ud go for rooney.... but in terms of winning what has rooney won ? an fa cup.. in terms of his ranking in world playe of the yr.. not even in the same league as henry.. When henry retires he will retire as the greatest ever premier league player... Rooney has great potential and great current ability.. but then he will never ever score as many goals as henry.. he is not a 30 goal a season striker(and never will be).. u talk about assists.. henry still holds the record of assists 21 in a premier league season beating pires' 15 and beckhams 15(these are all official opta/actim stats). In terms of Great goals yeah rooney can compare with some of the best in world footbal Henry Ronaldinho sheva eto'o, anyone but lets face it.. being a great footballer is also about how effective u are as a player Scoring a screamer like the volley vs newcastle does not mean ur effectiveness as a player is great.. it means u can score great goals.. when he learns to carry a team single handedly leading the premier leagues goals and assists charts then he will be a great player... he certainly has the potential but by no means is wayne rooney a thierry henry yet... He has temprement problems, and is quite prone to injury even for an ox... and obviously the media over hype him as he is a wonderkid from england who can compare to any youngster in world footy but there is no doubt the media make him better then he really is ( at the moment ).. he is not even englands best player... that would be undoubtedly Steven Gerrard!

Lol Spain do have a chance.. they have some good footballers. Brazil are favourites and also have a very good chance of winning. I still think its Frances tourney as many of the coaches(not pundits) will agree.

In terms of Henry vs Ronaldinho... lets get things clear.. Ronaldinho in terms of ball control and skill is perhaps the greatest player ever to play football. In terms of the Best Player in the world im afraid to say its Thierry Henry... the game of footy is not about  doing tricks all over the pitch.. its about effectiveness and no player over the last 5 yrs has been effective or dominant as thierry henry... He is the best player in the world without a doubt, scoring more goals then anyone in any league in world footy and single handedly leading a weak arsenal team to the cl final whereas ronaldinho, undoubtedly a brilliant player was part of one hell of a team... individually and collectively one of the best teams ive ever seen(players like eto'o deco puyol guily messi xavi and the lot). Henry scores more goals then Ronaldinho.. yet ronaldinho is not a striker like henry... but if u look at assists henry creates almost as much as rd while he scores alot more... he also plays in a league where u get much much less time on the ball especially as a striker as seen when henry played real madrid where he had alot more space to run at the defence unlike in the premiership.. (u saw his goal), same vs barca, he ran through their defence pitty he did not finnish the chances unlike him we would have been champions of europe.. but then again ronaldinho in the final was non-existant.. he was tackled alot and developed not one decent chance whereas henry made 3 therefore.. i can gaurentee u the barce fans were alot more nervous when henry had the ball then we were when rd had it... cos of the 3 one on ones. The fact that Rikeyard wanted henry so much (and was pissed off when he could not get him) is testement to what ive said. Proven by the fact that both barca and real madrid bid Ã?£50000000 thats 50 million pounds... like 80 million euros for henry about 3 weeks back, both world record bids for any footballer in history. Ronaldinho would not be half as effective in the premier league ( faster league and less space by far for the attackers ), having said that there is no doubt he is one hell of a footballer.. but the fact is henry is the best player on the planet.. and in the words of Zinedine Zidane(arguably one of the all time greats winner of the world cup scoring 2 goals in the final Champs League scoring a volley in the final winner of the the European cup and the spanish la liga italian serie A and numerous cup competitions while notchy up world player of the yr 3 times and if im correct cant remember with this european player of the yr twice)... Ronaldinho is a special player.. but Thierry Henry is arguably the most naturally gifted player ever to play the beautiful game. ( Refering to his overall ability as a footballer ) Footy is not just about having fun with great skills / and tricks. Pity Henry wont play for Barca.. even as an arsenal fan it would be tremendous to see the 2 together, where henry would be in one of the dominant teams of world footy.
