Psychiatrists prescribe the meds and doses, psychologists deal with the persons problems and issues. I always knew it was something like that, Tolar confirmed it for me awhile back, for a better description of each, talk to him.

Psychiatrists suggest medicines, and see if there's a problem, etc.. They usually call your family doctors and such. Psychologists help with the problems.

Pschiatrists are MDs
Psychologists are not.  That's the only difference.  The MD allows them to percribe medicine.  imo Pschiatry is a bs practice.  Meds don't help solve mental issues. They may mask them.

Yeah, I have both... =( I stay away from the pyschiatrist best I can these days, since I won't let anyone prescribe me meds anyway.
