If you know the exact directory it's in.... it's probably not that leet.   If it's coming back, it's not in there.

Also, that folder is the prefetch.  That is not the file, but a little thingy that makes it load faster.  Pretty much all programs you use will do it.

Yeah dude, the one in prefetch is not what you're looking for. No, try doing this, press ctrl+alt+del and ending process dark.exe this will stop it from rechanging your settings or doing everything else. Then go into command prompt and type:
cd \
dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\irfgyo\
Then you can check to make sure that dark.exe is in there, if so, then go into C:\WINDOWS\system32  turn show all hidden files and folders on, and then scroll down a bit and turn off hide all system files, then look throughout the folder to locate hidden directory irfgyo and when you get in there delete Dark.exe, afterwards the rest you decide what you want to do.

And Cab, are you sure you're able to reactivate Windows XP Home Edition, more than once? That's the version, cuz I plan to wipe it one way or the other.

to my knowledge u can install XP as many times as u want, so long as it's on the SAME machine and the 5 Critical Components are not changed (i would assume the Mobo is one). so if u didn't upgrade your machine u should be able to reinstall...as for backing up shit...i would, but wouldn't reload untill about a month has gone by; because if it's a new one chances are it'll be a month b4 the 'Cure' code is released

also make sure u disconnect your line to the Net prior to reinstalling ;)

This ended with me having fixed pretty much everything, sept I was missing a file for my video card, in my attempts to get it back, I shut my display adapter off, unable to see the screen, I couldn't do anything to get it back on, according to the techy there was some other error too, and getting it back on was impossible, so they wiped it, reinstalled, I lost all my shit, and started over. And, guess what, since then my video card has been fucked up, and doesn't work correctly at times, especially with certain games, or when I use alt+tab, in a game, NWN being one of them.
