I dont think the good players of GodSpire will join a new guild/clan...

But i do like to see the birth of a new guild/clan... There are enough less-expirienced players in GodSpire who are looking for a guild/clan.. So keep up the good work!

Ya I agree with Hubba. I don't think most of Godspires "best" players will join because most of them are already in the few existing clans/guilds. BUT, there are many new players that aren't "good" enough to get into the current ones. So a new clan/guild is needed for many players, but just be careful who you allow in, I don't have anything against newbs, but you don't want it looking like a randomer clan (Refers to Pink Posse). Things can easily get out of hand, and alot of newbs may give the Knights a bad name. ; ) See you on Godspire, friend.

I'll try not to get people who well brack the rules. so i'll keep an eye out, same as hubba, he's going to help me get some players into the guild. I'll teach them the rules if I have to. It'll be like sent work but with out the lights. Then i'll tell them to summerize what had happend or if I'm not on and a real sent or guardian is on they tell them what had happend. So I guess this is a helping guild for guardians or S.i.t's.

But hopefuly they will know the rules :D

I'll make a list as soon a possable

thanks -lain-

May I ask, what is this new guild going to be about?
What is its purpose?
Guilds normally have players in it that all have something in common.
If there is something, what is it?

Just some general questions I thought would be useful to you, and others when considering if your guild is right for them.

You should probably get a roster prepared, and it would'nt hurt to PM or ask an administrator if your guild could get a subforum. For now though you should just post your roster here in this thread until you have your own subforum to place it in.

It is nice to hear people like to help, but please realize that the sents are there to do just that. If there are no sents or DMs on someone can do the best they can to uphold the rules WITHOUT starting a free-for-all in the process, which means using your voice and not your sword. If there is need for someone just post here and hopefuly someone will see the cry for help and log on.

So if that's the aim of the guild to assist Sentinels where does a Sentinel stand that would want to join the guild?

Well there is more to the guild than that, you can be assured. I wouldn't call that the aim... she was just bringing up the fact that the guild will be helpful towards newbs, and when no authority is on and things get out of hand they'll do their best to keep the peace/order.
A sentinel trying to join? Well it is likely they would get in, and start at a higher rank than normal, because a sentinel would already know the rules, and thats part of what the guild does is making sure their members know the rules and don't break them.
But at the moment the guild is still just starting out and needs a little bit of time to set up "camp." All and all, a new guild is just the thing Godspire needs right now, at least in my opinion.

Thanks for being a Gadfly Meclar. =D

You should use some of the knight rankings from FFT.

Knight
Arc Knight
Lune Knight
Holy Knight
Temple Knight
Divine Knight
Holy Swordsman
Heavenly Knight

Just a thought

The way I did it was that Clans hold control and rule over thier territories.  Doriath, Angband, and all other Clan areas are FFA (free for all) in that DMs do not patrol those areas, they are left to the clans to control their own areas.
Each Clan is required to make its own rules that members are expected to follow and clan leaders are expected to control their clans.  When a clan member was misbehaving, I would usually goto their leader first before I would boot or ban.
A sent or DM would want to join a Clan for the same reason other players wouyld want to: belonging, friendship, support, and competition.  Noobs should want to join clans, but do not know how since they are noobs.  I recommend that all clans appoint recruiters to try and get memebers.  Actively seek out members.
Clans should have a council system as opposed to a single ruler in my opinion so that someone in charge is always around.
I tried many times to make clans work at GodSpire and still want them to which is why Marauders never died.  It is up to player interest to make it work however.  GodSpire is an open PVP system so it is up to the clans to devise their own competition systems.
Even though DMs like me are not on that much anymore due to a distraction, I do check the forums many times a day in exchange so I am always here if you need me for anything.

Make the Clans work =D

That's what TSoGS is for and in past experience players other than TSoGS and DMs trying to enforce the rules things get out of hand.  A member of a clan/guild should be concentrating on the rules/regulations of the guild/clan they are in and not be worrying about enforcing the rules of the server.  Seems to distract from the real purpose of having a guild/clan.
And for helping new players it's a personal choice.  I'd think that if a clan/guild would make that a goal then there would be some kind of religious theme and high moral ethics tied to it's purpose.  It'd be a guild/clan of missionaries or something.  Not monk cause they tend to be secluded.  Unless you really consider the Templar Knights of the Crusades monks....which I wouldn't even though they are...kinda close to paladins but anyway....

Why is only one refered to as a swordsman?  FFT?  Why not use the "ranking" of  D&D?  Or is it only for skilled players if so why does there need to be ranks of fighting skill and more based on reputation.

....
First of all... it isn't a clan it's a guild....
Secondly that isn't the guilds ranking system.... that was a suggestion that was posted....
Thirdly, as I said before, their goal isn't enforcing the rules, but rather, TEACHING them. And that is how they help.
As for when nobody is on... you looked at that the wrong way... when there are randomers and no sents/dms/guardians they would track the randomers, posting them on the randomer thread, try to get them to stop first (Using words) and call it to the attention of a sent/dm/guardian.... if they can get ahold of one...

THAT is what I meant.... Teehee.
