Pretty much anything by Helen Reddy, she likes to sing about women who have gone insane. My mom listened to some extremely depressing music when I was growing up.

EDIT: Now that I think of it, Helen Reddy didn't really make me sad so much as she made me afraid that I was going to be sucked into my radio one day and be trapped there forever!

Anything by Britney Spears makes me want to cry: does that count?

Either way, here's a tear-jerker: Peggy Gordon  (traditional Irish tune)

"No, I won't stay in the ground cuz there's no whiskey."

ooo, I go one finally. "Isn't it grand boys" - traditional Irish song sung at a wake, heard it for the first time after my dad died.

Quote
Isn't It Grand Boys
Traditional

Look at the coffin, with golden handles
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

Let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody-good cry
And always remember: The longer you live
The sooner you'll bloody-well die

Look at the flowers, all bloody withered
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

Let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody-good cry
And always remember: The longer you live
The sooner you'll bloody-well die

Look at the mourners, bloody-great hypocrites
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

Let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody-good cry
And always remember: The longer you live
The sooner you'll bloody-well die

Look at the preacher, a bloody-nice fellow
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

Let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody-good cry
And always remember: The longer you live
The sooner you'll bloody-well die

Look at the widow, bloody-great female
Isn't it grand, boys, to be bloody-well dead?

Let's not have a sniffle, let's have a bloody-good cry
And always remember: The longer you live
The sooner you'll bloody-well die
