« on: February 20, 2005, 06:38:56 PM »
Say I built a Lvl 40 character.

And I wanna try a different race and different class / stats combo.

Can I just rebuild the entire character from level 0 using 40 levels of xp?

And .. how many charcaters can I have on one server?...

Thanks
Thaks also to Bloodangel abou texplaining the sheep bit!

8 chars on one server, chars can only be on one side (not horde and alliance on one server, but you can go on another server and play).

You can't change your char to something else. I've though noticed that most things can be undone while in-game. Trade skills can be re-selected and talents unlearned, so that if you make a critical mistake or just dunno what to get when you start playing, then it can be changed whenever you want, for a pretty penny though :P (I took some talents just to c what they did :()

um..
But this means you won't really get an optimal character build (like nwn) unless for each character, you play for a full xp gain.
This is pretty tough right? That means it is like diablo 2.

I would so hate to be built to level 39 and learn that the level 40 pvper who just beat me chose something right at level 2.

How can you guys stand this? I would have ot think about getting used to it..

I much prefer being able ot rebuild like in nwn lots of times...

So can you export your character to other servers?? Even from a pvp to a pve or rp server?

Alright, some thoughts there gashmo, but even though someone beats you because he's built his char differently from yours on lvl 2 you can still change your char the same way.  There's nothing that can't be undone actually, and all stats (ability points) are dealt out automatically, so all mages are exactly the same if they choose no talents. The cool thing is that you get 51 talent points and to get your talent tree full you need to use 31 talent point, so since there are 3 trees you can't get them all full, so you have to specialize yourself to either ice or fire or arcane. Arcane is more all round magic and helps for all spells making your mage stronger. Specializing in ice or fire makes your spells stronger and I must say it plays a criticail part of how you turn out, so there will ofcourse be allowed to change it if you do something wrong, thus a mistake on lvl 10 or 11 can be undone (you get your first talent at lvl 10).

These trees and the talent system functions the same way for any class. I was happy when I found out I could unlearn my stupid trade skills and 2 dumb chosen talents that I just wanted to c how they worked :P
