Mysteries of Westgate
« on: December 21, 2008, 08:17:17 PM »
I noticed the official page for the expansion and it says it was developed by Occian Studios. Does that mean Obsidian is done?

The advertisement was right next to MotB and SoZ like it would be a real expansion, but the more I read it sounds like its DLC.

It's a premium mod developed by a 3rd party.  Was supposed to be out 2 years ago, but it's still "coming soon".
According to the Devs, it's been ready since 2006 but Atari doesn't have the right DRM in place for it.  Something to that effect.

That's because Obsidian is run by water heads. Get your info straight from the source: Ossian Studios MoW Info Page

I believe April 7th is the current target for release.

Mysteries of Westgate was released at midnight last night and Ossian has a new web page. If anyone still has NWN2 installed, you may want to check it out, their Darkness Over Daggerford module for NWN rocked!

Buy MoW from Atari for $9.99

Got the game.  Started with a bard.  So far so good.  Played a few hours.  Did a couple of side quests, one of them was actually quite difficult and needed a couple of tries to kill the various mobs.

Cool, I plan to get it soon, money is a bit tight right now. If you are getting anywhere with a Bard it must be pretty well balanced.

Maybe $10 isn't much in Canada but people have killed for less in the US because of the shit economy.

Well, when I say money is tight I mean that when I look at spending $10 right now I think, "That's 2 pints of ice cold draft microbrew right there." and then I go buy a couple pints of beer.

Throbble and I just had our 5th wedding anniversary and we plunked down a ton of money at a nice little Inn in Big Sur.

I'll probably get it next month, along with Red Alert 3.
