GodSpire General / Monster Spawn!!
« on: July 16, 2005, 02:00:29 AM »
Mo wanted a poll about how the Monster Spawner should work so post now or for ever complain about something you can't change  :P

I like the idea of having randomly spawning monsters from the spawner.  Not sure if that's possible though.

TSoGS / Sentinel gaps in Godspire
« on: July 14, 2005, 02:35:19 PM »
Leave the time that you see a gap in Sentinel activity for YOUR time zone.
If you leave before a Sentinel gets on then leave the time you left and mention that a Sentinel hadn't come on yet.
This is for Sentinel activity NOT for DM activity.
If you're a Sentinel and login and there are no other Sentinels on when you login then post that too.

If you want to compare time zones:

NwN General / No CD?
« on: June 21, 2005, 02:05:25 AM »
I don't remember ever being able to not use the CD to run NWN.  Is this new with the 1.66 patch or?  Do I now have 3 CDs to fling off on my weedwacker?

TSoGS / General Concerns
« on: February 18, 2005, 05:20:19 PM »
I was thinking about the limiting of the Sentinels to the Halls and the main issue I have with that is if someone is spamming profanities with the shout or is in some other way breaking the rules and they run to the safety of the clans areas how should they be dealt with?

GodSpire General / Shadow Dancers: HiPS
« on: January 25, 2005, 11:15:50 PM »
I was thinking about the HiPS problem; how people are hiding more often than they should per round.
My problem is that if a person wished to hide at the end of the current round then hide again at the start of the next round this would mean hiding before the 6 seconds is up.
Up until this point if someone had said to me "I hide so soon cause it was at the end and start of another round"  I would be convinced.

At first for a solution I was going to suggest that we have  2 hides per 12 seconds and from that last hide it has to be 12 seconds before hiding again to compensate for hiding at the end and start of the 2 rounds.  But then again saying hide once every 6 seconds makes it easier for a Sentinel to count and better for the SD character, they won't have such a greater time to hide again, of course.

So until I hear otherwise I will refer to the hiding rule as hiding once every 6 seconds NOT once per round (which is far more difficult to estimate for a person watching a duel). No exceptions.

I'm not sure about other Sentinels but once the hide has been deactivated I begin to count.

GodSpire General / Screen Shots

This topic was started in Arivs so I thought I'd start one for GS

My first is an interesting effect created by stoning someone and the flame animation:

TSoGS / Duel Manager Dispenser
« on: August 30, 2004, 05:34:00 PM »
Seems as though people lose their managers and in some cases they don't wanna relog and have to reset spells or for whatever reason. Not only would you get a Duel Manager on login but either have something that dispenses them or make an option in Belog for replacing the lost Duel Manager?

TSoGS / Sent Stone
« on: August 29, 2004, 05:13:08 AM »
I think it's just me but the Sent stone seems a bit of an overkill in most situations. I want to be able to say to the randomer being punished, "read the rules" but they have a tendency to walk away. "Stoning" you might say would be a good way to end this but then they can't read the books or their journal and so on...I'm not sure about this problem yet so I'll let it stew for a while.

A DM has come to my attention about enforcing the summoning rule. I was wondering if we could add Dismissal or Banishment as a Spell Per Day or another use. Again it seems overkill to kill and or daze/stone someone over a simple badger that's not really doing anything anyway. I would rather use the subtly of the Sent Stone as to have a party of people following or running around killing summons.

GodSpire General / Annoyed
« on: August 02, 2004, 03:34:15 AM »
I'm becoming a little annoyed with Sentinels being on when only other Sentinels are on. It has become more frequent the past few weeks that there aren't any Sents on and the randoming and other rule breaking is just out of control. People who are committed to GS should be Sentinels and those who aren't seem to be just creating full spaces. This is becoming increasingly annoying.

This is not just simple randomer patrol but people who are exploiting bugs that end up killing everyone who is in GS and the people are able to return. Yes I have. Ignoring and shrugging off, is another problem with lodged complaints.

NwN General / Disarm:
« on: July 15, 2004, 02:04:04 PM »
I have only seen one other person use disarm at my level. I have no problems with it. Mainly because I usually have high disciplined characters. Now two of my fighters have it and my TSin' SD (hey if ya go cheap go all the way).
I love it for several reasons. The main one is, there is nothing funnier than having a randomer dropping his weapon and try to beat ya with fists.
Second in a duel I think it adds a bit of interest. Rather than exploiting the fact that they can't withhold against knockdown just pop out their sword and see how prepared they are for it. Again most of my fighter classes have more than one weapon in the quickslots so I know I'm prepared.

Unfortunately very few people find the humor in it and more often than not they call me names. As I see it, it is better to be disarmed than to be knockdown. What's funny is they ignore the fact that I need something like 13+ int. so those points I could be adding to another ability which would imporve ab/ac whatever.

What's the verdict?

GodSpire General / 2 Problems
« on: July 09, 2004, 12:25:48 PM »
First the problem with damage to monks when I use TS with my level 20 SD/wiz/rogue. For some reason when I cast TS and then attack a monk with or without EB my sword does somewhere between 1-8 damage. the sword has all damage bonuses and is a rapier (damages consist of blud. pierce slash and magic). It also has keen and massive crits I believe. My question is why is this happeningor is there some newbish explaination that I'm overlooking? I can say it only happens to monks but for the life of me I don't know why. If more info is needed on the character post reply.

Second, since I came back to GS after a couple of months being absent I have been regularly disconnected. The disconnects happen about every 30 minutes and sometime are more frequent. I have checked my firewall settings and wires hubbs and such and have not found a problem on my end. The disconnects only happen with GS server and take about 5 minutes to reconnect. Has anthing server connection settings changed in the past few months? Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks
