Mage battles require the most..."real-time skill" of any of the classes availible.
When two fighters go at it, it's basically a duel of items/character development...I mean you NEVER see two fighters going for called shots, or attempting to disarm -- so basically, as a fighter, you just sit there and watch your rolls....or cast Truestrike every 9 seconds and watch your rolls.
Now as a mage, it's a *real-time* battle, you've gotta watch your opponents and time your attacks, as a result, a mages hands are the most active while dueling.
Now...as for mages being overpowered...I can honestly say, that while I was playing Neverwinter Nights (playing on a regular basis) I rarely lost...I mean you can check the records n' everything, I rarely lost. I usually don't lose when fighting mages, mainly b/c I use cut-throat tactics, like casting silence, using auto quickened spells, summoning, and taunting. The only person who beat me occasionally was Mo...when he used his pure caster, not his palemaster-caster.
As for me, I've used one charcter to duel everyone, I don't swap characters..I can honestly say the only classes that really give me a hard time are hiders. That's it, hiders.
...so, yeah I guess they're overpowered

So I'm trying to find out the *peak hours* for Godspire.
I know this sounds funny coming from me, but my interest levels for computer games are hanging by a thread...so naturally I'm trying to find new players/vet players to fight agaisnt in hopes that maybe I might catch that "GS spirit" and become a hopeless addict again.
I've tried at all the obvious times...like in that sweet spot area between 7 and 9 Pm, and I turned up empty...was it because it was thursday?

Send me a tell instead if I'm on.. it's easy to do, /tp "Lord_Aiden" will send a tell to me regardless of what character I'm on. Other sentinels I would encourage to also post your account names, can make reporting a "criminal" easier.
Although sents have the power to deal with randomers, lamers etc...we can't do anything if don't know what's going on. Best thing a player could do is to come to us and report the person who commited the crime..however that itself isn't exactly full-proof either.
I mean say player A. dislikes player B., for whatever reason.....so player A comes over to a sent and complains that player B. is randoming...we (sents) would have no way of telling if player A. was lying -- and we certainly don't have the time to go questioning every player in the area of the crime.

Only real thing I can't stand is stealing someone's build. If you can't use your own mind to come up with something unique on your own, don't pvp. Sure there are a lot of mroe obvious builds taht are popular, but when you notice someone's kickin ass out there, don't try to rip off what they've come up with.. that's just really lame.Can't agree with that more.
I mean...if you're going to rip off someone's idea, at least give the original creator credit...maybe mention them in your character description.
That's the main reason I become uber-angry when someone with the EXACT class levels appears before me, and starts to ask alll sorts of annoying questions like..."So how much taunt do you add?" or "What spells do you use?" etc.
Be original! That's how you make a name for yourself...be creating something unique.

You know what...I gotta say something.
For the past 3-4 months (and a total of 2 years on NvN) I've been playing on GS, I havent broke one rule..not one! I've got one of the cleanest records of any player. I've never abused my sentinal powers, nor have I abused any bug (I don't even use shadow spells!).
I'm a well known person, who constantly goes out of his way to educate others, and to explain the mechanics of the game to those who don't understand them. In other words, I'm the nicest guy you'll find on Godspire, and if anyone disagrees with that I challenge you to speak here.
So I make one mistake...ONE mistake outta months of clean playing...and I get booted, Then I get bann warning, then I get a warning that my sent powers will be taken away. Here's the funny part...I begin to TALK to a DM, and the guy says
...in a great big, thundering, ego voice
*Thou shall not even speak to a DM or thy are not worthy to play on this server*
...then 420 enters and boots me.
I've NEVER had a conflict with ANY of the original DMS, so what does that tell you about these new DMs?
The original DMs (the ones that I know of) and I are very close, I've chatted with them on many occasions. (Yes this means a player actually SPOKE to DM *Gasp*)they know me, and they know that tho sometimes I can be a jerk, I follow the rules -- and always uphold the law.
Now these new guys running the server, are strutting around with thier noses turned upright, with inflated egos....using whatever excuse they can to boot well known, respectable players whom never violated any rules and are GS's highest defenders.
I'll most likely become banned for speaking here...God knows I can't speak on Godspire, so where else can I go?
