Right, so I need a T9 torx screwdriver and the hardware store didn't have it, so I found some store online, found what I needed, and went through checkout and placed my order. They didn't show any shipping cost until AFTER the order was placed. Of course, I didn't really mind as I assumed it would be around 5 or 6 dollars, basically double what I payed for the screwdriver itself.

But this... this is fucking ridiculous!

S K Hand Tools 83609 T9        1  3.20
3.00in. Torx Expert
Screwdriver
                                    Subtotal  3.20
                                    Shipping  11.45
                                          Tax  0.00
                                        Total  14.65

$11.45! Seriously!? From Ohio to Minnesota!? That's nearly four times the cost of the product! I sent them an e-mail, demanding some of the shipping cost refunded, or if that wasn't possible, to cancel the order entirely since it hasn't been shipped yet.

Where?
http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/

At that fucking price I would've just bought that screwdriver set I saw at the hardware store that had only three Torx ones in it. It had what I needed but it was $25 and it seemed worth only half as much.

Anyway, it's not likely to be going back to that website in the future, but we'll see if they are able to redeem themselves. They'll have to prove to me it won't happen on future orders, not very likely. This is all beside the fact that the tool could hardly be considered "discounted." Not that I was looking for a discount.

Oh yeah, and they have this under their contact page:

Errors or omissions in descriptive, typographic, pricing and/or photographic representation are subject to correction. We reserve the right to modify this site's content at any time.
They know damn well they don't show the shipping charge, because they fully intend to try and rip you off! I can order shit bigger than that from Newegg for half or less than half the shipping charge, AND they pack extremely well and put shit in a bigger than necessary box for added protection.

General Gaming / Is Blizzard the model gaming company?
« on: November 15, 2009, 07:09:13 PM »
It's just as you say, 420. That's the kind of crap that happens with a lot of games these days, whether it's DLC, expansions, both, and/or future special content only available through the purchase of a later release... it seems to me that it is just better to wait. Like buying Halloween candy after Halloween. \Christmas\Easter\ :D

Bioware isn't Blizzard; They've had some good releases, but they don't have unmatched quality. I personally think more companies should take a page out of Blizzard's book.

I actually have a product that was made in Canada! Can you believe it!? lol. I think I've only ever had.. or even seen.. a couple of things that were made in Canada. Although the distributor is in Wisconson. lol They are these "Dino Sour Gummies" that I spent way too much for a little cup of. I got those and this small bag of malted milk balls from some fund raiser... shit costed me $15.50! I could literally buy like 8 bags of gummies and a container of whoppers (which I like better than these) for about that much... or less. I know it's a fund raiser... but goddamn! My sister conned me into it, since it was for my neice. Not sure what the actual fund raiser was for though.

Okay, rant over.

I seriously just bought a health and mana potion a couple of days ago. It should be arriving by mail tomorrow or Friday. (possibly Monday if they're slow)

Seriously... this is sweet shit. $5 a bottle, but they're like energy drinks except healthy, and with no sugar or caffeine. I wonder how they taste though... I got one of each to try them both. Even if they taste like shit, I'll probably order two more for my collection.

General Gaming / Spore?
« on: May 25, 2009, 06:39:43 PM »
Any of you cats play this shit?

Fucking love this goddamn game man.

I would pay good money if they came out with a new spore game that is very similiar but far more drawn out, realistic, and detailed. In other words, a more serious version for a more mature audience, as I realize this one is meant to be child/teenager friendly.

I've made some pretty sweet.. evil-ish.. creatures and whatnot, but I have full intentions on making a fucked up snow man creature, a scarecrow creature, and some other weird shit.

I know this game is old news, but I haven't seen too much talk of it on here. I think someone posted some of their creations at some point...

Random Ranting / Good Movies!
« on: April 07, 2009, 06:53:41 PM »
Yo, I need you guys to give me the names of some good movies. Old and new, but mostly new preferred. I mainly want action, shit like One, Jackie Chan movies, Die Hard, xXx, Never Back Down, The Bourne (identity, supremacy, ultimatum), are some examples. Also comedies are good, but there are a lot of stupid ones that piss me off. I also really like many movies the following actors are in: Ashton Kutcher, Adam Sandler, Denzel Washington, Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis, Jackie Chan, Jason Stathom, Bruce Lee, Will Smith, Wesley Snipes, Edward Norton, Brad Pitt.

I could use some good suggestions, the actors and movies listed are just to give a good idea of the kind of movies I enjoy. Thanks in advance.

Random Ranting / The World's Cheapest Car
« on: March 23, 2009, 02:24:41 PM »
Quote

MUMBAI (AFP) – India's Tata Motors on Monday launched the world's cheapest car, the Nano, hoping to revolutionise travel for millions and buck a slump in auto sales caused by the global economic crisis.

Company boss Ratan Tata said the no-frills vehicle, slated to cost just 100,000 rupees (2,000 dollars) for the basic model, will get India's middle-class urban population off motorcycles and into safer, affordable cars.

"I think we are at the gates of offering a new form of transport to the people of India and later, I hope, other markets elsewhere in the world," he said, describing the launch as a "milestone."

"The present economic situation makes it somewhat... more attractive to the buying public," he told reporters in Mumbai ahead of a glitzy official unveiling ceremony at 7:30 pm (1400 GMT).

Potential owners of the car -- which is just over three metres (10 feet) long and has a top speed of 105 kilometres (65 miles) per hour -- can apply between April 9 and 25, Tata managing director Ravi Kant said.

A ballot will then select 100,000 people to be the first to get the keys to the vehicle and deliveries will start in early July 2009, he added.

Even affluent Indians are eyeing up the Nano, which has a two-cylinder engine and four-speed manual transmission but no air conditioning, electric windows or power steering, although deluxe versions will be available.

"This is a value-for-money car," said Hasmukh Kakadia, 39, a Mumbai investment analyst.

Shares in Tata Motors on India's 30-share Sensex index jumped eight percent in early trade but finally closed 2.8 percent up on profit-taking.

Car dealers say they have been flooded with queries about the Nano, whose debut was delayed after violent protests over the acquisition of farmland to build the plant, forcing Tata Motors to shift from West Bengal state.

But the new plant in Gujarat in western India will not be ready until late this year or early 2010, Tata said, meaning production must come from existing factories, reducing output and increasing waiting times for deliveries.

Kant said 250,000 to 500,000 cars could be produced from the Gujarat plant from next year but admitted some customers may have to wait more than 12 months in the meantime to take possession of their Nano.

Tata, though, said pushing ahead with Monday's launch of the 20-billion-rupee project was the right decision.

The Nano's arrival comes at a tough time for India's top vehicle maker, hit by the economic slowdown at home and abroad as it tries to absorb the British luxury marques Jaguar and Land Rover that it bought last year for 2.3 billion dollars.

Tata is hoping the Nano will also be a hit overseas in the long term.

Earlier this month, the firm unveiled a European Nano sporting airbags and leather trim that will hit the market by 2011 but be costlier than in India due to the extra features.

A US version is also on the drawing board but requires redesigning to meet American safety standards.

Environmentalists, however, fear the Nano will accelerate congestion on India's already crowded, pot-holed roads and add to choking pollution.

"Every car that goes on the road is going to use road space. We're only adding to congestion," said Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN's climate panel, which won the 2007 Nobel Prize.

Tata countered by saying that the Nano would be the least polluting car in India.

NwN General / NWN User-Made Modules
« on: February 01, 2009, 04:06:17 PM »
I don't know how much you guys have previously gotten into user-made modules, but... as some of you know, I used to play them all the time and I still do on occasion.

I just got done REPLAYING TORTURED HEARTS I just the other day. This modules is HUGE. I played it in 2005, it came out in 2004. It had been a long time since I had played it and I remember fiercely enjoying it. The guy who made it still replies to comments and updates his modules, which is admirable indeed. (makes me think of 420 =P) The mod greatly changed since I played it in the past.

I've played tons and tons of user-made modules and I've definitely enjoyed a great deal of them. (way better than the campaign and expansions, although I've played the campaign like 11 times over the years...)

I created this topic to see what others here have played, what mods they recommend, and if anyone still plays any.

Random Ranting / True Postcount
« on: January 14, 2009, 10:22:08 PM »
I like post count because I'm interested in knowing just how many posts I've made on a board. Well, with some forums or categories that don't add to postcount, some boards taking away from postcount as a form of punishment (weird...), and admins or mods messing with people's postcounts for any reason at any time, your own postcount is rarely the actual count of posts you've made on a board.

I knew with random ranting and various other factors on this board that my 1908 (or 1909 now?) posts aren't how many posts I've really made, so I was interested in finding out the actual number. Before you ask why, I'm just curious to know. I just like to see what I've done on the boards I visit. SMF actually has a lot of sweet statistical features. =D

My true post count, with this post, should be 3,100. lol That's a huge difference.

I figured other people might want to know theirs as well. So for anyone who doesn't already know how, the easiest way is to go to your own profile, (click on yourself to view your profile, just like you would to view someone else's profile) go to "Show Posts" on the menu to the left, find your way to the very last page in your list of posts, and then scroll to the bottom of the last page and find your very first post.

The number of the post is your true post count. =D

Though... this obviously doesn't count any of your posts that have been deleted... this is as close as you get!

Script Request / Two simple scripts, fuckload of problems.
« on: January 10, 2009, 07:36:33 PM »
Why, by all that is so fucking bloody unholy... are these two... simple... little... miniature... tiny... scripts... GIVING ME A FUCKING HEADACHE!?

Seriously... I know there's some simple shit I've been missing this entire time that for some blasted reason I can't seem to grasp that will solve my problems with these two scripts... but for every thing I try I've so far fucked up pretty bad. lol.

Okay, what I wanted to do was make two separate things happen. Really simple things, actually (or so I thought... lol).

The first thing. I have a gate at the entrance to an area, there is nowhere to go but through this gate but the gate is locked and needs a key. I have a guard at the gate which I want to distribute a key to every player who asks for it. In the conversation, I have the player ask the guard if they may enter... this is where I want the script to come into play. What I want, is for the guard to tell the player they already have a key and not give them another one IF (fucking if) they already have one. So I want the script to detect if the player has the key, IF they have the key, I want the guard to tell them they already have one and not to give them another one. IF they don't have one, I want the guard to tell them something else (basically the guard saying something like "Sure here's the key."), and give them the key. My problem is, is that I can't figure out how to get one line or the other of text to appear in the conversation depending on whether or not they have the key. I tried using "Text appears when" and If then statements... but I keep fucking up somewhere.

Now, the other script... which is more of a bitch... I have an area where 'servants' are walking through the halls and doing their own thing (using the follow waypoint on the default heartbeat script), and what I want is for those servants to say something in text while they are walking (as talking above their head), but also saying something using an actual sound file at the same time. What they say in the sound file matches perfectly to what they will say in text. My problem is... I can't get the sound thing to work at all! I've gotten them walking around and talking in text... I've tried using the delay command and loops on their heartbeat and spawn scripts... but nothing's worked so far. At first I tried using the PlaySound function... What I want is for them to continually say stuff in text and aloud forever, but only like every 30 seconds or so. Problem is... the PlaySound function only seems to work when a characters action queue is clear... and since I have them constantly walking from waypoint to waypoint... their action queue is never clear... also PlaySound isn't even an action! It plays instantly! For some reason though it doesn't work unless the queue is clear so... I tried using SoundObjectPlay... but... that means I have to use a sound object... I tried things with that but it also ended in failure.

I've probably made a hundred scripts for both situations to no avail. Seems like a simple thing to do yet it is eluding me so... Blindly frustrating it is.

General Gaming / Hitman
« on: November 23, 2008, 10:31:18 PM »
Anyone here ever played any of the Hitman series? I've played all of them, just recently playing through the third and fourth ones.

1. Hitman: Codename 47 (Real old, still fun, but challenging due to being ancient)
2. Hitman: Silent Assassin (What got me hooked on Hitman years ago, many people don't like it as much as I do. Fun challenge achieving the rank of Silent Assassin, allows you to unlock sweet weapons.)
3. Hitman: Contracts (Technically a remake of the first one. Many missions are the same missions re-done, but there are various other missions as well, far more in depth and complex, even compared to #2.)
4. Hitman: Blood Money (Finally! You can throw coins to distract guards, some missions on the others were a pain when there was nothing you could do to get past a guard without killing or sedating them. Far more complex and in-depth, new reward system, Silent Assassin rating still achievable, no major reward for it. Enjoy your funeral!)

I haven't had an opportunity to watch the movie yet. Since I am so familiar with the story and have played through the games, I am quite interested in watching it. I am also anticipating the release of the 5th Hitman game, which has yet to be named or given a release date. I've played all of them via PC, however, all of them are out for consoles. Blood Money is on PC, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360, Contracts is on PC, PS2 and XBOX and Silent Assassin is on PC, XBOX, PS2, and Gamecube. The 5th is supposed to be released on 360 and PS3, as well as PC.

Computer stuff / Diskeeper 20**
« on: September 02, 2008, 03:40:01 PM »
Awhile ago I found this interesting defragmentation program for Windows. It is called Diskeeper 2008 and has a 30 day free trial. I put it to use and I have to express how completely impressed I was and still am. You can enable a process that runs in the background tapping unused resources to keep your system defragmented at all times, and help to keep files in one piece as you put them on your computer. Not only that, but running defragmentation manually is extremely superior to the default windows defragmenter, and is created by the same people! I have seriously enjoyed the trial and typically run defragmentation multiple times in a row to eliminate fragments of problem files that don't necessarily go the first time. It also has boot-defragmentation for places it cannot usually defragment while the operating system is running.

This program DOES cost money once the trial is up, but I find it to be worth it for the sake of computer performance and organization.

There are various editions of the software which can be useful for various things, and you may choose to download and use the trial for the one that you prefer. I personally went with the home pro premier edition, as it seems to be the best in it's class for personal use.

Now why the fuck I bother to tell you degenerates about my absence is a matter only god knows. Hence the reason I know and you don't.

Kidding. (maybe)

Anyway, in approximately 1 week (7 days), I will be absent for likely two full days at least. I know this is a terrifying thought, but keep the crack in your sack before you start to rejoice.. err, I mean lament, yes, that's it. Around that time my gf will be moving in with me and I have alot of plans and whatnot then and thereafter. So it is likely that I will be gone for most of three days if not gone completely for that time, and all the time following that, may be absent alot more than I am now. Or in other words, alot less present.

However, you're still probably going to have to put up with me posting for at least once a day which is good for you because of how much you love, worship, and praise me. :D  I'm sure I need not explain the reason for any this if you have any fucking sense about you.

Now, all that's left is for all of you to bow the fuck down! :king:

P.S. You'll never fucking get rid of me! Bwahahahahahahaaa!!!
