Just got BG 3 for Christmas from my wife, so I'll be playing that sometime soon most likely. I'm currently addicted to Oxygen Not Included though so I'm still playing that at the moment. When I got it, I thought it was going to be a game that my kids would really like that I'd also enjoy to a lesser extent, but it turns out that it's actually a game /I/ really like that I'm not sure my kids can get very far in it without struggling immensely. Haha. My son is also really into Little Nightmares, so we've been playing those a lot when he's here too.

I rarely play anything when it comes out for even a year or more after its release. I got tired of company's BS with releasing unfinished trash and buggy games and putting out 300 DLC's later that would end up being all on sale in one super bundle for much cheaper.

I plan on getting this soon though. I make very very rare exceptions, but they do happen occasionally.

Yeah, I play three times a week. Mon, Wed, Sat.
Damn, wish I could do that. Haha

I wait on everything. I plan to try out Hogwarts Legacy eventually, no clue how long I'll wait. I almost never pre-ordered anything back in the day and when I did it meant I /really/ gave a damn about that game in particular, because even then a lot of games I was excited about I waited for. AC Black Flag was one such game, never disappointed me. Diablo 3 was another, that one was a major let-down for me.

It's on the list to re-play though, I got all the dlc stuff for it when I bought it bundled with D2 Resurrection, so eventually I'll get to it. Gotta give Path of Exile a reboot too after several years MIA. I just don't have the time to actively play anything MMO adjacent.

BG3 is on the list too, I'll get it on a good sale and re-play 1 and 2 which I already own but never played the EE. Played the originals decades ago ofc.

I'm still waiting on AC Valhalla, should play that soon when a good deal pops up. (at first I was waiting for it to even be on Steam, preferred platform) And Mirage is on the way yet if I recall. I never pass up an AC even if it's a couple years down the line.

Gotta replay the Mass Effects too, I beat the shit out of 1-3 back in the day on 360, but I own them on PC now and Andromeda which I've yet to play as well.

Too many games, too little time. D&D is always priority too, got a sesh today/tomorrow. Too bad none of us live closer. I'd be happy to have you guys rollin dice at my table.

NWN 2 General / Re: NWN 2 EE on Steam!

I actually finally bought and played NWN2 and it's main campaigns back in... shit I have to look on GoG Galaxy... 2019. It was pretty good actually, I enjoyed it. I honestly didn't expect it to be as buggy as it was because I figured everything would be resolved by that time, but it was still pretty buggy. Playable though. Worth the play through.

It was definitely missing the magic of the first game for sure. But I still really enjoyed the campaigns and SoZ was interesting and fun as well. I feel like the Acquisitions Incorporated supplement for 5e probably shares some things in common with that one.

I tried downloading some modules that people made, and found some recognizable names from NWN 1. I got so far into one module before I had to quit, it got too buggy and unplayable. I don't put the fault with the creator either, I'm sure it has a lot to do with NWN2 still being buggy at it's core. At least the campaigns are playable though.

Couldn't log in FOREVER because I didn't know which old password was needed and it never sends an email when you use forgot password anymore, so finally today I decided to go through a list of old passwords. Literally the first one on the list I couldn't remember but wanted to try, was the right one. lol

Yeah the scamdemic/plandemic is a f'ing joke to be sure. Glad it's mostly behind us but I'm sure they have other BS planned for the future.

I haven't been gaming all too much. Played a bunch of Terraria back in Aug-Dec because my kids wanted me to play with them a lot and my wife wanted to play it and then they also released a major update with a bunch of goodies in late Sept. that was pretty awesome. I was playing Pathfinder: Kingmaker pretty hard back in August before my camping trip, 300 hrs in and still unfinished. Awesome game.

I'm trying out Niffelheim right now, since it was on sale really cheap yesterday or the day before. It's pretty fun so far, not a game I see myself spending a ton of hours in though, which is why I decided to play it now instead of going back to Pathfinder. As I got work that needs doing and don't want to get back into something big until it's done.

Tried out the new quest in The Witcher 3. It's actually pretty good for what it is. I also got all the recipes for the new armor type (based on the Netflix Series), and crafted it to the best version. I personally don't like it compared to the original wolven armor at least statwise for the character build I'm using. Maybe eventually I'll New Game+ it. All the other goodies that came with the new content may have helped me on a new playthrough, but didn't compare to my endgame gear.

Been playing D&D semi-frequently. 2019 I was in a group that didn't last overly long. The DM wasn't that great as a DM and was an even worse host. lol 2020 and 2021 I had a campaign I ran with weekly sessions, with pauses during the summer months and occasional cancels of course. In 2022 stopped that campaign for the summer months. Started a new adjacent campaign in December with 2 of the old players and one new one.

People are flakey and unreliable, so it's often difficult to find and keep a good group going. I've had some consistent players though, my wife being one of them of course.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on but life.
I got a long list of games I own and have never played, some I've played and would like to play again or finish in some cases, and others that I don't own yet but plan to buy and hopefully play someday. Never enough time, too much other shit to do. lol

Meant to comment on this ages ago, but couldn't log in. I don't have WotR yet and probs won't pick it up unless it's a good deal on Steam at some point. But it's predecessor Pathfinder: Kingmaker is an excellent game. I stopped it part way through cause life, but it's really good. I have 300 hrs in it and still have a good amount of game left.

Haven't played much this year. Had a span of about 9 months or so game free, and then played Subnautica again for a bit months ago, enjoyed the newest updates from the last time I'd played. Then went on to play The Long Dark again, tons of new updates there, it was great. After that went back to Terraria, last played that about a month ago, but intend to continue when I feel I have ample time.

Nothing "new" as of yet.

So Meclar, you're looking for something to play where you don't necessarily have to play for long stretches to get into, don't need a state-of-the-art system, and don't need to be fully focused to play decent?
Have you tried any Saints Row games?

RPG's specifically might be tough in that criteria, but if you like ARPG's (like Baldur's Gate or Diablo), Grim Dawn and Victor Vran are both very good choices and have great single player. There's also multiplayer for Grim Dawn, I can't remember if Victor Vran does, but I think not. Path of Exile is always my top recommendation but that has a huge learning curve, and an overwhelming amount of content, requires focus, and consumes an endless amount of time, it's also always online. You can play "single player," but still online.

Otherwise Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is a good choice too, but requires some decent specs.
Terraria, Craft the World, and Subnautica are also good choices of games you can pick up when you want to play, make progress and have fun, and then put down when you need to stop.

The heck is a "Skyrim IV?" I assume you mean The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim?

I am back on Path of Exile again, and have been since mid-January. (I played Grim Dawn before it) There are a lot of games I want to play and have gotten ready to play or started but am waiting to finish Legacy League in PoE. I re-started the original Witcher about a month ago, and played through to a certain point when I decided to focus back on PoE. I intend to play the 2nd and 3rd Witcher as well, which I recently got on sale. I also plan to re-play Skyrim fully loaded with mods in the new special edition version sometime soon, as well as the Amnesia games I recently got. I am also excited for a return to Subnautica and Terraria in the future, with all of the updates that have come out for them. On the list to play again/some more is also The Long Dark, but I'm waiting for them to finish the main story first, unless there's too many major content updates to resist.

Oh, and I'm still playing Zombidle. About a year of playing that now.

This War of Mine - Happy to be back to it.
Banished with Mods - This game pissed me off, disappointed me, I'm glad I found some sweet mods, am liking it better this time around.
Zombidle - Been consistently playing this since I found it on Newgrounds a month ago. It's pretty sweet.

You're basically on some mining space vessel that enters the orbit of a large ocean planet that has virtually no landmass. The planet has and sustains life, and there have been other vessels in it's orbit in the past. Something goes wrong, and your vessel goes down, you enter a lifepod and escape. When you land on the ocean surface, you are in your lifepod, upon exiting, can see the spaceship in the distance. You have a short amount of time before an explosion occurs on the spaceship, flushing radiation into surrounding waters. Most games, the lifepod will be out of range of the radiation and you will have no worries, but swimming in the direction of the ship can kill you. You have to survive, catch and eat small fish and drink filtered water. You start with very little for tools, but the nearby environment is always "safe shallows" where you are relatively safe for the most part from hostile sea creatures and can find nearby resources to begin crafting tools inside your lifepod's fabricator. You find blueprints for new equipment, gear, and submersibles as you go along, and within a short time obtain what is needed to make the beginnings of a sea base. This is useful for too many reasons to count, but as you progress, you have to go further out into different kinds of biomes to find different kinds of blueprints for gear and building modules, etc. but also for different resources you can't simply find in the safe shallows. Within a short time you can make a radiation suit to swim in radiated waters, allowing you to make your way to the vessel, and even stop the radiation at some point, allowing you to use a different type of suit with other benefits. There are tons of biomes, resources, places to explore, sea creatures to fear, and items to find and craft. Not too mention building a sweet sea base.

Early on you can basically get the atv of the ocean, which you can further upgrade later on for a faster version, and also a say, automobile of the ocean before long, and eventually the RV of the ocean, a submarine called the cyclops. There is a lot to explore and do, with depths going from 0 surface to -1000, much of it very impossible without the creation of vehicles.

I can't say much in lacking support for this game, it's pretty darn cool, take a look for yourself.

This game is awesome as shitballs. (okay, more awesome than that, but let's pretend shitballs are awesome)

It's still early access, but the devs are actively working on it and making patches, and the game is great as it is in it's current incarnation, even.

It's on sale right now, not sure for how much, but this game is sweet even for people who are terrified of deep ocean/sea exploration. :P

Same here, hate the taste. Not a big tea drinker either, although occasionally I'll try to be healthy and drink it, but it has to have honey and lemon juice, with preferably too much lemon juice for most people. Haha.

I know some people who try that apple cider vinegar shit. Nope. Nuh uh, none of that shit. I tried some straight once. Never again.

IN his lip? Never had that problem. I also don't get issues with my front lower teeth, I'm not sure what you have to consume to cause issues there, but soda isn't it, the drink usually passes over them and hits the back teeth. Unless you're a swisher... why the fuck would you swish soda? haha My front bottoms are my best teeth, pretty much pristine, even.

Thanks.

This is a picture I took in the hospital after I woke up that morning, about an hour or so before going to the dentist. My bottom lip was almost fully consumed by my upper lip. It took about a week after the dentist for the swelling to go away. 5 upper teeth in the front pulled after this.

Well, in my case, I could load up, but after a few seconds or something it would pop something up. I don't remember exactly now, but I remember that I was certain disabling an asset I downloaded would solve the problem. Only I had added several assets at once, and would have to use process of elimination, seemed tedious, so I went to do something else for awhile. Awhile has lasted quite some time now. lol.

Yeah, when I told you it was a good fucking game I wasn't joking. Best city builder I've ever played. The only reason I stopped when I did is because of a broken asset messing up my game, and I had to figure out which one it was, so I ended up doing something else and never got back to it. Every time I think about playing it, I usually say "ah, but that broken asset..." lol.

Definitely recommend that title to anyone who likes city builders.

Indeed. I was hoping for a boy.

She's my fiance, actually. My daughter is through my ex-wife.

Actually my fiance wasn't laughing about it, she fully believes that my toothache was worse than her labor. She only pushed for 15-20 minutes, the doctor was caught off guard by how quick it was and didn't have a chance to get her gloves on. And toothaches are no joke, they rate as the highest pain I've ever experienced, last for days, sometimes weeks, and I get them bad enough that my face swells up, I get fevers, and cold-like symptoms. Sometimes they have spread to sinuses, and this last time I was worried about getting an ear ache also. I went to the ER two nights in a row, the first night I didn't want to leave because she wasn't pushing yet and I didn't want to miss it, but she wanted me to, so I did, and they gave me a shot of toradol. That made the pain subside for 12 hours, and I got back in time to see my son born and support her. The following morning I got antibiotics and pain relievers (started with an L, never heard of them before) but the pain relievers weren't working so I took others as well, it got bad enough that I took way more than I was supposed to. That night I went back, they gave me Norcol, which didn't work at all. So they gave me another one, which finally started to work some, and cold compresses for the swelling. After leaving the ER, and trying both, the pain basically came back after a very short while and I would have to be taking way more than recommended to see it subside at all. No position was comfortable to sleep in, and I finally resorted to sleeping in the bathroom tub, because it was the only position I could "lay" in with my head upright. I slept for 30 minutes, and when I woke up, the pain and swelling had shifted, with the swelling getting a lot worse, but the pain getting to be not as bad. I then went and slept on the bed, and when I woke up the next morning, I had almost no pain but the swelling was horrible. Having my mouth closed was having my bottom lip under my top lip, without adjusting my jaw.

The experience was quite miserable, but I have bad teeth, as my father did at my age. A lot of it is due to soda over the years, as it also was for him. After all of that, a day shift worker at the hospital told me about a dentist in town that's pretty good and takes people on short notice, whereas my dentist appointment was scheduled for September, because that's as soon as I could get in, this guy was willing to see me that day. (before I got the September appointment, I had tried over 10 other dentists in the area, so for me this was a lucky break. I don't live in a city, I tried all options in my town, and several neighboring ones.)

Oh, and I also didn't do much complaining just suffering... haha, I probably would have accepted a bullet at the time if it meant the pain would cease. I don't wish that kind of pain on anyone.

The only pain on-par with this toothache, was one time I had a bad sinus infection about 5 years ago. It started after a cold with my face hurting slightly, and ended with my head feeling like it was split open, being wheelchaired into the hospital, getting a ct scan and IV's. That was a bitch. I didn't even drive myself. I'm not sure which experience was worse, but getting five teeth pulled was instant relief. It still took several days for the swelling to subside completely. It was also more like 3 toothaches at the same time, and an entire side of my face. Heh. I think the toothache was worse, even if the pain was on-par, because in the case of the toothache the effects and swelling and everything lingered longer. I actually still have shards of tooth coming out of my gums here and there, one came out two days ago, another one is coming out now. With the sinus infection, I was waiting for it to get better on it's own, and when it didn't after a couple of days, I went to the ER.

My fiance did a waterbirth, she said that it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but maybe she's one of the lucky ones. It's hard to say, because my ex-wife's birth of my daughter was also relatively painless as well. Both of them had "small" babies, but both of them are smaller women. My ex-wife is taller though, and of larger stature (still small, and not fat) than my fiance, and my fiance is skinny and of very small stature. She's only 5' tall as well. My son was still within an average weight size, being on the smaller side of it. My daughter was very small, and they were concerned, but she was otherwise fine. Both of them were on time and not premature. I imagine that if my son had been a 9 lbs baby, she would be singing a different tune, but it's very fortunate that he was not. We also knew he wouldn't be, her belly was just not large enough to be a very big baby, and it was all baby, no extra weight. People tried to convince her that he would be larger.

Anyway, I have a NEW dentist now. I'm not going anywhere else, the guy who pulled my five teeth has my business. I'm going back in another couple of weeks. After I got them pulled, I was able to enjoy the rest of my time at the hospital with my son and fiance and that meant a lot to be able to do that. It wouldn't be so bad if healthcare/dentistry/eyecare wasn't so fucked in this country. Then again, you live in Canada, so I can't really talk. lol

Indeed, Mercy.

I've been playing Subnautica recently. It's a lot of fun, despite my irrational fear of deep water. (literally, like the only thing that scares the shit out of me, haha) It's still in early access and has a lot of work to go, but despite this, it's pretty remarkable as it stands. If anyone plays it, don't make my mistake, put your fire extinguisher in storage never to be seen again unless you're using it to shoot around in the water, as it stands, there is no other fire. I hucked it around with me everywhere, expecting a fire on a wreck or especially on the Aurora, but I finally decided to look it up, and you only ever can put out the original fire in the beginning. Haha...

Also, play experimental version. Besides the fish now respawning on it (your ocean begins to look barren unless you personally re-stock it later, and even then...), there is a lot of stuff that gets changed. If I knew what I know now, I would have made my game on experimental to begin with, but I would normally avoid unstable builds, this game is an exception. Plus it aids development.

Another pro-tip for anyone beginning, build 5 pipes under equipment as soon as possible. You don't have to rush or anything, but the sooner the better. Take the pipes, and connect them horizontally 1 after another as close to the surface as you can, all the way around your lifepod, so that the last pipe connects to the first. You can do it with just the 5 pipes, no need to make extra. Sometimes the lifepod floats away, it gets hit by fish or something supposedly and can end up very far from the safe shallows. Mine has never moved after I did this to it.

When my daughter was born. I literally just thought about it earlier when I was checking LM. So I decided why not? I'll update my little family of gamer's here about my son being born on the 9th. He was born in the same hospital as my daughter. He's also got long fingers and toes like she did, and close to the same height, at 19 inches, her being 19 and a half. He was a much healthier size though, being 6 lbs. 11 oz at birth, with a discharge weight of 6 lbs. 4.4 oz. He's already regained all of his birth weight like a champ. He has dark brown/almost black hair like his mom, and his eyes haven't shown their true color yet. He was born at 04:20 A.M.

My daughter is Auriel Azrael, my son is Ezekiel Alastair. Very happy to have gotten a boy as well, that was my hope.

I also ended up going through a lot of pain during the whole thing due to a tooth ache. No pain killers or relievers worked much or for long, except the shot of toradol the ER gave me. I swelled up pretty bad too and was quite miserable. I ended up getting to squeeze into a dentist's schedule in the same town as the hospital and got five teeth pulled. Literally five. That made all of the difference, I had quite the infection. Now I feel better, but talk kind of funny. Mostly just happy my son is healthy.
