Title: The 2nd battle >:(
Post by: Blood Angel on September 20, 2004, 03:52:41 AM
ok here's the thing:

When we get to choose when to fight, how about we fight when everyone has the chance? (For me it was a wait from 11pm - 1:30 am, had to go to school in the morning and I had my father yelling at me for not going to sleep)

Oh and one more thing, why is it that we didn't just get the battle start at 11pm? why was it allowed to be dragged out to 1:30am?

Also, was the time actually set by anyone in Doriath? everyone was waiting at noon because they thought it might be then when throbby said 12am. I think we need to take a timeout to arrange things for the next battle.

1. yes lance I'm trying to correct what we did wrong, NOT you guys.

now last time it was 18 on the Doriathans side and 9 on the marauders side. This time it was 6 who were there and ended with 4 for Doriath which WAS caused by the time, 7 marauders.

So from these numbers I do find it convinient scheduling the fight for the time we had the last time, BUT we didn't do that, which is why I'm saying MAYBE we SHOULD.

(again pressure on the caps words)

Blood,

The reason you had to log off is because Doriath opted to wait for Monk of Tyr to relog. If we had gone ahead without him, you would have been there, and the resulting team sizes would have been the same: Doriath 4 v. Marauders 5.

Also, if you don't stop spreading misinformation about this war, I'll ask Doriath to leave you out of the next battle altogether.

Finally, stop breaking forum rules: don't post when you're angry.

We started less than half an after the scheduled time; a short delay must be expected when 12 people in as many time zones meet online.  Check this reference (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?day=19&month=9&year=2004&hour=0&min=0&sec=0&p1=0), which I've been using to determine time zone offsets. By my watch, we started before 12:30 AM GMT. If it was 1:30 where you are, you aren't in GMT.

Tip for the time zone impaired: London is *not* GMT. It's BST.

I know that this battle was a little rushed. We seemed to have problems finding a good time for it, and well there wasnt really a good time for everyone. I apologize for the quick time posting and that it was on a sunday. The time for the next battle is already posted so make sure u can make it this time.

I'd like to mention that the new time is tentative, as it's a religious holiday, and some folks will not be able to attend. If we could move it to Sunday, it would be better (for some).

Please remember that we have particpants all over the world, and what may be a sensible time for you may be completely inconvenient for nearly everyone else.

Why dont you run by GS local time. As you log in to GS, its displayed in the status text.
It is set to MY localtime, for various reasons, and the day/night cycle on the server follows it, basically so I dont get disorientated :D.
My localtime is currently BST (GMT+1)

If it's all the same to everyone, I'd happily post it in BST and be done with it. Of course, this assumes everyone is capable of  figuring out time zone offsets....

nonono, plz stick to posting the times in GMT....which i believe is +/- 0 hours, much easier to add and subtract our times that way
