I don't know why people always assume these threads are for showing off wallpaper, they're not... completely for that... lol. The point is to show your DESKTOP, of course that would mean they would see your wallpaper too, but also your desktop setup and how you have things.

That may have something to do with the fact that most English words have e before a. Such as eat, or great, or treat, etc. etc. And that it sounds more like Tyreal than it does Tyrael, even if it's spelled the other way around.

lol Throbblefoot! You can kill me now. Just tell me where you are first, so that I don't get backstabbed, I would prefer to die from the front, but as I cannot see, I do not know frpm which direction to expect death.

As far as I know, most of the time in English the combination "ea" makes the sound "ee" as in eel, although "great" is an exception, as there are with every language rule in English.

How is "Tyrael" pronounced anyway? I've a tendancy to pronounce it tie, like a bow-tie, rail, like a hand-rail. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

I wasn't talking about how it's pronounced, as he can't hear us, I am talking about the spelling like he said.

It probably has roots elsewhere. Like Mephisto, which is short for Mephistopheles, the first general of lucifer supposedly. And also in D2:
"The skies shall rain fire, the seas will become as blood, the righteous shall fall before the wicked, and all creation shall tremble, before the burning standards of hell!" The first part of that is a revelation from the bible.

I put that toolbar there for a reason, not one of those icons are useless, and not one of them are unused. Well, I guess I could go into the start menu every time I want to open something, and have a huge ass list of programs, or I could have a million icons on my desktop, but this was a much more efficient and organized way, in my opinion.

Neither of those images loaded for me, Meclar.

420, that's alot of icons! You might want to consider making a toolbar too! :D

The manteinance of the car, gas, tires, car secure papers? (the paper for the accidents, i guess theres one alike) besides those cars run out of gas extremely fast, making you expend lots of money in the gas stations, and in those cars even repairing a single scratch can be way to expensive.

That, and do not forget car insurance. Expensive cars = HIGH insurance. You get a little dent because someone bumped into you, and the repairs will be insane, so the insurance will also be insane.

Really? Well, after buying your "dreamcar" you might as well be giving all your money to some guy in the street.

Your current car is nothing like said "dreamcar." The insurance companies would murder your wallet and bank account with a car like that. The car you have now is no comparison in expenses. Trust.

First time with a Windows 7 OS (completely skipped Vista) and I'm running 1280x1024 on a 19" monitor. So, why are the icons so fucking huge?

Well this is 1440 x 900 the tops for vista. That's as small as it gets for that OS.

Well, I certainly didn't buy/install McAfee. It's creation date is July 17th which is when I was first able to get on the internet and it was modified on July 20th. So it has to have installed while I was running Windows Update. Maybe it's part of Service Pack 1?

nupe, if Windows doesn't detect a AV the Windows Update will display the Security Essentials as a recommend, but optional, download.

Which means, you got it from a 3rd party install

I would remove it and install a 'good' AV like Avast; AVG blows, that PoS tends to not detect trojans while Avast will. I had a known infected keygen and only Avast detected it. Thanks god the AVG system was due to be reformatted.

Avast
Spybot S&D
FireFox + NoScript
Malwarebytes

That's what I run

Here is the entirety of what's installed on my new computer (in order):

Before the 17th of July:
Motherboard Drivers
Video Drivers

On the 17th:
Windows Update
Firefox
Brink (including Steam)

Installed after the 17th:
GIMP 2
Diablo 2 (w/ expansion)
NWN (including GameSpy)
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

So, yeah, no idea where McAfee came from and I never got any prompts about installing it.

Indeed.

I agree, I've head plenty of good testimony about AVG and tried it out once because of it; it's terrible, plain and simple. I've been loyal to avast! for years now. I've only had one bad-ass root-kit slip past it... and by bad-ass I mean it fucked up everything. Any file on that HDD that was a .exe became infected. It disabled avast! and fucked my system beyond repair, so there wasn't much hope after that, lol. I am still loyal to avast! though, because I doubt anything else would have caught that virus either.

I run very similar, except that instead of using Spybot S&D with Malwarebytes, I use Spyware Doctor alongside it. Malwarebytes does most of the work, but when I want a thorough clean I use Spyware Doctor which finds things Malwarebytes doesn't.

Most pre-built computers that have pre-installed operating systems come with a bunch of their own programs and trials on the system to start with, this is most likely where it came from, but if not, any one of those drivers could have had optional (sometimes not optional; cockheads) software that it installs with it. I've installed drivers before where they offer a third party program with the software, and when it comes to system installations like drivers, they are more commonly anti virus offers than anything else. Some games do it too, not sure if any of those would. Firefox could and has offered things in the past, usually like a Google toolbar or somesuch, but that might have changed now... with Google chrome and all. Any number of reasons it could be there, but I'd just remove it and get avast!

UGH, that may be the problem. I got an OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium Edition. When I installed it there was no McAfee until I hooked up to the internet and used Windows Update 2 days later.

No, I have Ultimate and Home Premium OEM discs, I assure you Windows does not install any other AV; it will recommend Security Essentials, which is Microsoft AV/Malware/Spyware "defense" software.

I got my ash to lvl 30 (supercharged) and weapons to lvl 30 (shotgun and ether dual swords also supercharged) and completed almost all missions besides some on the last one, Pluton, now im just waiting for more missions or game modes besides the supposedly most likely crappy duel system. BUT I like Ash really op with good gear can one or two shot lvl 40+ ancients while in stealth.

The only problem is that I play on EU West and I doubt it would let me change the server and still keep my char, well maybe yes but it would probably lag for me sadly ><.
Could always try if I get back to it.

I bought a 2 TB HD and Win 7 64-bit so I could play Wolfenstein: The New Order. Not, only can I now play a game that I didn't read the system requirements for when buying it, but I also get the bonus of utilizing all 8 Gigs of RAM for the first time since I built this computer 2 years ago.

I'm sure the clerk at the store tried to explain why I should get a 64-bit OS instead of a 32-bit but I like to get drunk before I work on or build computers so I probably told him to fuck himself.

Anyway, here is my new desktop. It keeps scaring Throbble and I:

I made this wallpaper with my daughter in mind. Auriel Azrael is my daughter's name. No, not the angel in D3. I disliked D3. Also, her full name is an alliteration; I love alliterations. :P
