How long has it been...since I walked the halls of the [now name-forgotten] battle arena.

Yep.

One step forward, two steps back these last few months...

Hearthstone has gone into open beta! Join up and check it out.

I don't really see the point of playing this game at my computer since I could easily play something else that's way more engaging and entertaining. But since there is a rumor that it will be released as a smart phone app I could totally see playing this on my phone when I'm commuting to and from work.

-420

Less likely to be a rumor. The game's built on Unity, which supports immediate (as in no need to rewrite code; just pick the device and go) cross platform creation. ;D

but why also restrict the trades?

-420

Because Blizzard is run by a bunch of idiots.

They wanted to get rid of the RM AH because you could sell items and then use the cash, which is deposited into your Blizzard Account (think like Steam Wallet). And then turn around and use that money to buy card packs in Hearthstone.
...making $2.99/week is easy in D3...well, was, until the RM AH was removed :P
(($3 * 4 = $12/mo; almost the sub price of WoW))

They claim they made the change to prevent scamming and deter less-than-honorable players. But then why did they wait until Hearthstone left Closed Beta, and thus wasn't going to have anymore resets, where they refund all your money spent as Gold [coin].  Why not remove it way in the beginning when this shit was starting to happen? Why even put it in in the first place?!
--Essentially, the RM AH was removed right when they would no longer be forced, legally, to return the money spent in Hearthstone. And could keep it.

I'm surprised none of you have talked about the purposed changes to trading that Blizzard is exploring....all of the valuable items are "soul bound".

I believe this is the one done by Fox Entertainment in conjunction with some iOS/Android app maker.

Arena seems to give this

1 card pack (might be variable amount...I don't know)
1 dust (variable amount; goes up the more wins you have before your deck expires)
3 gold bags (same variable amount as with dust)

For a total of 5 'Reward Crates'

Arena Decks expire after 3 loses or if you click 'Retire'. I believe it's every three matches you win up go up in the ladder.

I don't think HS is as dumbed down as some might think.

Due to one simple mechanic. Cards' health aren't restored the beginning of each round.

So it because a game of strategy. Which cards to sack and which to keep on the field.

NOTE: I'm basing this off of playing a spat of Magic 2014.

PS: Tell Throbby to get in her ship and scuttle the main mission...it's boring as fuck.

PPS: TURN ON SEA SHANTIES AND LEAVE THE MUSIC ON! You won't be disappointed.
...well, unless you hate sea shanties.

Right now, ~$124/mo for TV and Internet from Time Warner
15Mb [down] / 2Mb [up]

I'll be dropping the TV portion so the Internet should go up $10 (bundle savings lost). But I'll still save about $60 a month.

WTB: Google Fiber / FiVO :(

I didn't get one. Got lots of emails from Neverwinter but none with that subject. They must really miss you. (Maybe it was only for closed beta testers?)

Dunno, it may also be time dependent. I haven't played in several months. :P

Not sure if anyone's monitoring this thread these days.

But, PWE set out promo-codes for Neverwinter [Online], that gives two free levels and some nice loot. Might as well use 'em :P

Hmm...is that the one with the boss that does the "at feet" AoE and does the random mini-AoE ranged attack?

If so, I found him quite hilarious to solo as a Guardian.

Pull him out of the room to the fashioned stone slab and all the 'at-feet'  AoE's are underground so you don't get hit by them. I think even the random ranged mini-AoEs are also underground.

This game has/had soooo many exploits. Which is nice, I dislike needing to slow down to look for a group...I also dislike that said group will not want to poke around looking for treasure.

Don't hate on Wizards...they are supposed to be your superior ;)

I'll get back on the game soon.  Been in Warframe lately.  I'm not one for mindless mob spawn events either.  No tactics requires no skill.

Ya, don't know if any of you played Day 1 of the Event but mobs had 'minion hp' so they died in one to two hits.

General Gaming / Re: Neverwinter (2013)
« on: June 19, 2013, 08:54:24 PM »
Fuck this event.

I am so sick and tired of dickshitter (thank you FC3: Blood Dragon!)-Devs being incompetent when it comes to "Kill Mob Events".

All it's been is a fucking Control Wizard pissing contest to see who can throw out the most AoE.

I barely 'render' the mob HP bar and they're dead.
-No lag. There's just that much AoE-spam going on

In one event I got one fucking bag and 6 bones as the event reward. All the CWs had ~3 times the amount of "Event Points". -Day 1 of Invasion

...not worth my time; zero fucks given

(I'm angry because this is yet another game that the Devs don't think "you know, players will just do <this>.". I'm not Game Dev, but even I know players will AoE the shit out of mob spawn during events.)

What is up with the item generation in this game?

-420

I would venture to say the enchantment slot adds to the overall weapon um...rating, or what ever the "+#" represented in the D&D rulebook....I'll have to keep an eye out to see if +2's have slots or not...

Meh, I just figured out what Invoking was yesterday. Still not sure what the point is, but I guess some cool stuff can be bought for Astral Coins.

-420

You will want the Celestial Coins (you get 2 coin types) for the wards.

If you ever hope on getting the epic Enchants....they have about a 1% chance to succeed :P
Preservation Wards keep the enchants from being destroyed
Coalescent Wards guarantee a successful fusing

The other coin type (Astral I believe) should be saved for the 360 coin Angel. So far the only Epic 'Healer' Companion.
-But that's just me :P
