You'll want to forward ALL you other email to lucidmagic as we have UNLIMITED storage!
Well actually that's not really accurate as the server has a 20GB hard drive...so ya we'll try and keep up.
Actually, i have 3 email acc (1 msn, 2 yahoo), i created the yahoo one because most of the times, hotmail takes damn long to receive the activation mails for forums, mmorpgs, emulator sites and such, then i made the 2nd yahoo just to register a 2nd acc on some mmos.
Now i can use @lucidmagic to just register on porn sites!, just joking ^^.
Actually i really like the unlimited storage. :)

Well what username would you like?
But on a second though id prefer tyr@lucidmagic.net

There it is. :P
I like it, though I have 3 gmail addresses, 1 yahoo and my school account. Problem is my main gmail account has been getting spammed (that gets past its devent filter) so I needed another anyway.
Thx Mo

Spam you say? Well that's our business. The whole point of setting up this email service is for me to test my company's security products. So we'll try and make sure no one will be able to spam you. Gmail has very good anti-spam so it's quite surprising that you'd be getting a lot of spam there.
iam@lucidmagic.net
Are you going to do webhosting any time soon?

I can host a website with no problems except the fact that my ISP blocks port 80. That is why you see the :8080 up there in the address bar. So if you don't mind people pointing their browsers to port 8080 then I'll host your site no problem.
I've been using Geocities for years and I hate it with a passion: http://www.geocities.com/erujuj/ (http://www.geocities.com/erujuj/)
I didn't realize my graphics aren't displaying.

lol
I used to use them a very long time ago.

I'm pretty sure it's a 100% postive yes. But that's just my 'silly' assumption after he said:
"I've been using Geocities for years and I hate it with a passion"
And:
"Are you going to do webhosting any time soon?"

There's a 1% chance I might actually take you seriously, if I actually thought you ever had any idea what you're talking about.
Yes, Mo I'd like a web site! Please...

Make that three! No, five!
-420
Okay, Mo and I have successfully e-mailed eachother on the new service!
Although every time I send or receive mail it asks me for my password.
-Elessar

There should be a little checkbox with something like "remember my password"?
Uh, can I get step-by-step instructions for the pop3 settings in Outlook Express. I've never used it before and I can't figure out how to configure the fucking thing.
FUCK, I HATE BILL GATES! HE IS A WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT THAT HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY MADE COMPUTERS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE! FUCK YOU GATES I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL FOR AN ETERNITY!!!!!
I've been configuring email clients for 20 fucking years and I can't figure out this cryptic Microsoft shit.
-420

lol well you don't have to use Outlook :P
All pop3 clients should be relatively the same.
Now it's telling me my password is rejected.
-420

Ya i mentioned that you need a password.
420 and HeLL your passwords are set.
I can send to elessar just fine, well I can reply to him. But when I tried to send an email to throbble's yahoo account I got a "that address was rejected by the server" or something.
Got something against yahoo?
-420

Whats her email address? I can send fine to yahoo.
throbblefoot at yahoo
-Throbblefoot

Seemed to work fine for me.
Hmm ok it wasn't letting you relay to throbble. In Outlook or whatever, go to the properties of the account and in the servers tab make sure outgoing mail server requires authentication is enabled. Then just use your account credentials.

That did it, I have now successfully sent and received emails from bot the lucidmagic.net domain and from yahoo.com.
-420
Anyone knows how to setup mozilla thunderbird?.
It was all good since it asked to type the name of the incoming server and the name of the outgoing server, i suppose its the same but it says something about SMTP, so.. :o

SMTP is the outgoing server
Hey Mo I've changed my mind about the webhosting. Sorry if you acted on that already. I've thought about having to renter all that information since you can't cut and paste to and from Word and Geocities Pagebuilder.
If anyone does know a way I'd love to hear!

Just get access to the files and copy them.
incoming mail server (pop3): lucidmagic.net
outgoing mail server (smtp): lucidmagic.net --> IMPORTANT in advanced tab please set the outgoing mail server PORT to 26. This must be done or no connection will be made.
After that log in with your account name, which is the email address you choose minus the @lucidmagic.net. Also please use those same credentials to authenticate to the outgoing (smtp) mail server. DO NOT use SSL (secure password authentication).
If you have any problems with any of this please let me know.
Also you have no passwords setup so please PM me your desired password and I will enter it in.
For the rest of you sit tight I'll try and get accounts set up for you. I'm having a wee problem in that the evaluation version of my server let's me have max 5 users lol. I'll get that fixed pronto.

Ok so we got,
elessartelrunya@lucidmagic.net
hellmasterhell@lucidmagic.net
tyr@lucidmagic.net
420@lucidmagic.net

Is that what you ment, J Owns You, not mean Jo?

Obviously we can't have spaces in email addresses. Right now it's jownsyou. I think I may have made a typo some where.
throbblefoot@lucidmagic.net doesn't seem to exist, i just got an e-mail saying i coudln't send something to her

Should be working now. Wasn't working properly late last night. I'll have another look at it.
Alright, since setting up the lucidmagic email, every once in awhile my browser/internet connection stops responding because I get some sort of shitty little pop-up. Until I cancel it my internet connection is completely frozen.
What in the FUCK in Bill Gates doing to my computer?
[attachmentid=1231]
-420

Geez. Maybe using Outlook wasn't the best idea hehe.
naw, it's just passwording it on him so he has to log in again to get his e-mail
-Elessar

But I'm not even using the email program, it just sort of pops up at random times while I'm using my browser.

I believe that is part of the Outlook Express option to be your main "E-mail service provider" which is often concurrent with your "Internet Service Provider." For instance, my father has an e-mail @acs.net which is from our internet service provider. He can use outlook express for it, but he chooses to use Incredimail.
I could be wrong, but I think that's what it is. When I set up the e-mail on Outlook Express, it prompted me to make it the main e-mail handler dealie, I said no.
throbblefoot@lucidmagic.net has a fatal error.
i forwarded the message via throbblefoot@yahoo.com

I'm still having this problem. It seems that every time I come to the lucidmagic web site now, if I only stay for a few seconds (say to check for new posts) then leave, a few seconds later my internet connection freezes up and that fucking pop-up appears and I'm forced to cancel in order to unfreeze my internet. I'm going to start deleting everything related to Outlook and Firefox if this shit keeps happening.

Check your network connections folder, make sure there isn't some funky ass shit in there. Also, in outlook, check your settings, you probably have some shit turned on or something that you shouldn't, and it might be trying to use lucidmagic.net as your ISP's e-mail service or some shit.
Just got this error while checking email:
Happened a few seconds after logging in.

Makes sense. I had to bring the server down. Not enough people were using the email service to warrant the hardware usage. I plan to bring it back up under better circumstances.
On the bright side you don't need to use Outlook anymore.
I tried to use it but Outlook pissed me off to the point it didnt seem worth it.

Well there are a million pop email clients besides Outlook.

I kinda need this email address working as I have signed up or changed my account information on a number of sites with this email. My registration at one site will be canceled if I can't access the email confirmation.
