Random Ranting / Team America the movie
« on: January 19, 2005, 11:59:21 PM »
what??

You think the movie Troy was good??
Ok i didnt watch troy but after reading the reviews i felt it probably wasn't worth it.... full of poor acting, historical inaccuracy and plain deception..

But, heck, maybe it was as bad as Team America... !

Really, I can't remember seeing any really good movies lately..
Let me see the last good one I watched was um.. Japanese animation - say like Hellsing or.. Last Exile.

Random Ranting / Team America the movie
« on: January 19, 2005, 03:15:17 AM »
i just watched TA:World Police...

Head of TA: "There is no I in Team America!"

Intelligence: "Yes there is...."

lol that was one of a number of funny line sin this movie. I like the thunderbirds look and feel of it and it was quite funny.. Not the funniest but quite funny.

Not a bad movie but a bit too America centric (duuh) and not quite over the top as I would have liked. I liked it when the camera bumped the hero off his mootorbike. heh.

Did you guys like this movie?  is it too old to chat about?

Ps:Its so funny but X2 The Threat also has a thunberbirds feel to it heh.

GodSpire General / Nicest Babe on GS thread
« on: January 17, 2005, 02:15:40 AM »
Well I know why this threa dis popular...

It's because all of us here in Godspires treasure the company of girls..!!
And NWN is a start of the new revolution in girl gaming!
No, its not CS or Quake which did it. Only NWN.

Cos in NWN girls can make their own dolls, play house and guys are forced to play with them!!!!

see?

Random Ranting / Read if you like poems

What u think about this 1? Remember, length doesnt matter in poetry , sometimes small, on first sight silly phrases , can get really strong:

Mirror,mirror on the wall,
You make me feel so low,
Mirror,mirror on the wall,
Now i have to go.

I think... it could mean several things.  It does remind a person of these feelings or situations :-

1) Maybe the user of the mirror is too short abnd cannot see his reflection? And as he ponders the mirror he realises he will never see it and has to leave.

2) "so low" sould also mean that the reflection makes the viewer feel sad? And is it his sadness that drives him away from the mirror?

3) Maybe the feeler of the emotions is not the viewer, but the reflection or the mirror itself? The reflection has to "go" because of self awareness non-existence? Or the mirror itself is a thinking entity and is merely reflecting the thoughts of threader?

It is a bit strange that a girl like yourself likes dark poetry. Your picture shows you to be more of a party animal!

its really hard to write poetry which everyone likes
because sometimes it becomes good after several readings and thinkings (usually after poet is very old or deceased)
its not a bad passage
maybe just not my type atm.

Here's an easy one. Anyone guess where this one came from?

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'"

One of my favourites :)

General Anime / Elfen Lied
« on: January 13, 2005, 04:02:36 AM »
Ok so I clue don to this anime because somepeople were talking about the really good music. The music isnt bad.

But the story is apparently incredible so they say. It's much better than anything put out by lamer quentiin tarantino (who is just a copycat). It's about a girl who is a secret tech project super killer and she escapes from a facility. This anime has the most gore of any anime of its class and the characters apparently are very soulful (so they say).

Anyone hear dof it, have coments about it?

PS - sry about he QT comment - stick a thread in flamewar if u like.

Random Ranting / Do you think Michael Jackson is guilty/not guilty?
« on: January 13, 2005, 03:58:33 AM »
This isnt a poll about whether a court will find him guilty.
This is a poll about whether you think he actually did ANY of the things the kids allege. You can vote yes if he only did one bad thing.

Random Ranting / Which country has most of the nwn players?
« on: January 12, 2005, 09:38:30 PM »
i have met a few canandians. they seem fairly quiet and capable types in nwn.

the americans.. maybe im mistaken, but they tend to be a bit brash and get hurt easily. one australian guy i met was really very sensitive even though he was quite good. the uk guys are very solid.

the nicest girls are from netherlands.

w00t ! its Talon!!!

yeah i just dont like ms much. the last time i mixed win98 and win2k on one network i had to step through some weird settings and each os had to set up differently and i had to install some weird stuff. took too long for my tastes.

worst of all, none of the steps were logical and all conformed to "ms logic" - which to me is really bad because it locks you into their way of thinking. i do not want to become enslaved to ms's way of thinking.

but other people can have different views.

Random Ranting / Router Problems
« on: January 12, 2005, 03:13:30 AM »
if you misx OSes on a lan and internet share the connection each OS has to be set up differently. usually each OS needs a separate download of a patch from ms's official webpage or a manual patch which you have to do.

this is known as "microsoft high-technology" or "NWWYWIT" tech = "never works when you want it to" tech as in " I NWWYWIT wouldn't work"

if you use linux for all ur pcs u will have much less problems.

Random Ranting / Which country has most of the nwn players?
« on: January 12, 2005, 02:49:18 AM »
Lance was saying he was one of 10 australians that played pso console online and that had me thinking where everyone in nwn came from.

Ok, a lot of the good players I have met came from netherlands. There are a lot of NLG players in nwn as far as i know.
The americans are there, but mor eof them have left than remain I think.
A lot more europeans are in nwn. I have met quite a few french, a lot of german and a number of spanish. A lot of very good italian mages out there.
I have met one icelander.

What are players from nwn like? Well I remember when the germans were considered really good pvpers but who used some very strange hacks on their items. The NLGs are quite friendly. Once I went into a french pvp server and got dm killed repeatedly becuase i wasnt french.

Later I might start a thread on which were the strangest servers in nwn i went into.

Where do you guys think most nwn players come from and what were they like?

EDIT : just realised maybe this should go in nwn general section... my apologies..

Random Ranting / About to try Freelancer
« on: January 11, 2005, 11:04:39 PM »
thanks james

yup i looke dup x2 the threat and it looks like a singleplayer version of the mighty EVE online

no multiplayer, has joystick, very massive economy and trade model, dogfight space combat, steep learning curve.

i think i prefer x2 because my freelancer keeps crashing after about 20 minutes everytime.

Random Ranting / Strangelets
« on: January 10, 2005, 07:21:26 AM »
http://nuclear.ucdavis.edu/rhic/washpost.html
This article is about "strangelets". A new reactor in the US is being built to reproduce matter as it was a few seconds after the universe was created by making sub-atomic particles collide at enormous speed :-
"According to the project design plan, it is intended to open "unexplored territory" in which "there is ample room for the unforeseen."
It is not known for certain if a side-effect will be the creation of some form of matter or condition unstable for life as we know it.

Boom! And the world is compressed to half its size for half a nanosecond...
Would you survive?

Oh just another speculative topic.

Anyone heard about this before?

Random Ranting / Where did all the people go?
« on: January 10, 2005, 07:13:40 AM »
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...9-2005Jan9.html

ok now all the medical emergency people in the tsunami areas have set up but they are wondering where all the survivors have gone.

The fact is - they are all dead!! Somewhere off the coast, or under a huge mudbank of sludge.. is floating a mass of dead bodies. Just floatign with the tide, deep in the dark ocean in a soup of seawater. And then come the deep ocean Aliens! They will impregnate the corpses and these will all come alive and walk out onto the beaches and eat everyone up!!!

cool huh?

yeah yeah yeah rubbish topic again. but fun or not fun?

Random Ranting / Phantasy Star Online
« on: January 10, 2005, 06:44:33 AM »
This is one really nice looking game with fantastic music!
The animation fo the characters is the best I have seen. Everyone has a nice boppy feel to it. In the city when your char is chatting around, you look real cute and everyone bops a bit. I love the look and feel of this game!

Ok.. but i dont really like the gameplay. Fine you go out and kill stuff and get rare items etc.. But... its just a clickfest i think. And not much thinking as nwn makes available.

So, I think ill play a bit but not too often.

I havent tried multiplayer but its max 4 players to a server. I read that games are dominate dby Jap speakers and there are very many great hackers who pk and steal your items crash game etc..

Anybody trried ti before? What do you t hink?

EDIT -  :/ i meant to post this in the games section.
