I dont think we will have the dmg if we devote an entire slot to a person for resing, especialy in tombs.

In what build?  I didn't name a build did I.  I've spoken very generally, and there are many builds in HoH that we could run with this, that would be effective.

2nd You can bring fewer rez sigs on the build as a whole as well, hence more utility or more damage overall.

Quote
lol

but all u gotta do is dp the rezmer and no more rez

seems kinda useless to have a char devoted solely to rezing

3rd, if they dp the Mezmer they aren't killing the monks or the other important parts of the build...especially if he's holding lively was naomei, all they'll manage to do is kill his energy, which he doesn't need to rez with a signet.

4th, the other team will have to identify the Rezmer as a main target, I doubt to many teams in HoH are going to notice right away that they wont win easily without removing the rezmer.

5th, Its not an entire character slot...its 4 skill slots at most.  The other 4-6 can be devoted to anywhich way you want the Mezmer to go.  Ints, Hexes, Ritualist damage skills...whatever.

I'm actually quite surprised (actually I shouldn't be at this point) that niether of you can see the potential of a good fast rez.

Since we're so horrible at rezing, I was doing some research on Rezmers and ran into this little diddy.

http://www.youtube.com/p.swf?video_id=H0Vi...Ka3B_KghrsQyofx

This is a Fast Cast Rezmer using Signet of Illusion, Symbolic Celerity, Lively Was Naomei and Death Pact Signet.

You don't incure a death penalty if killed by the death pact signet atm, Lively was Naomei will drop if you die and rez you.  There may be an auto-resurrection glitch involved with this skill, but either way this may be a nice Consideration to aTombs build or a build with an extra slot.

A fast cast mezmer with a 2 second cast rez skill...and a 2ndary rez skill.

Running a double BB build, two warriors and a Paragon 14 Leadership with Anthem of Fury to allow for instant Double BackBreakers.

Set up one Warrior as the Target Caller.  The 2ndary BB gets on another Key Target.  Equiped with Gale, he can put two targets on the ground at once if needed.

Primary Caller W/? BB War
Mokele Smash
Backbreaker
Crushing Blow
Hammer Bash
Bullâ??s Strike
Flail
Enraging Charge
Rez

W/E BB War
Mokele Smash
Backbreaker
Crushing Blow
Hammer Bash
Gale
Flail
Enraging Charge
Rez

P/? Leadership
Anthem of Fury
Aggressive Refrain
â??Go for the Eyeâ??s!â?
Blazing Finale
Anthem of Flame
Spear of Lightning
open
Rez

So the rest of the build is in the air.  Even the additional damage from the spike could be attained with Holy Strike Monks or a sup'd up AfterShock earth Ele.  Go for the Eye's will be up constantly do to Anthem of Fury, so more Melee/Adreneline spikers may be Useful as well.

Sloaner put in some input, so possibly doing a Aftershock Ele with wards, a sworder (solo) warrior for splits, and a water Ele runner, to close the build out with two monks.

W/R Steady Stance, Desperation Blow, Fear Me, Sun and Moon, IWay, Revive Animal, Charm Animal, Rez Sig
W/R Charge Sworder
P/ Song of Purification
P/ Song of Restoration
R/ Oath Shot Trapper + Quickening Zyphur.
D/N  Order of the Vampire, Signet of Pious Light, Runner

Saw it roll over a few top 100 teams with the dual E-surge/Spirit spike mesmer teams.

Told you "Fear Me!" was the shit, but nobody listens to Punt!

And you can thank Laurent for the prediction that Monks would become optional.

Lots of Steady Stance Desperation Hammer warriors running around in GvG now to, so I doubt it wont be long before this skill is nerfed.

but, I'd like to point out a few things about this build
1 no Monks
2 no E/Mo's
3 no Mesmer's
4 it can roll a guild lord in under 3 minutes
5 clans already are copying this build
6 Iway's not original, but E-Denial Iway is pretty insane.
7 I like it more then they 7 N/Mo 1 E/Mo build I saw the other day.

So if folks are coming up with creative ideas like this, wtf are we doing?

hey guys we did pretty bad last night it seams where lacking some things.
I think we need a designated caller for prime targets, spikes and stratedgy.
most of our problems came from spike orented teams with some sort of shutdown on the monks. Mabye a 3rd monk or a support char is needed to help better deal with this problem. As far as our build it shouldnt be based around a spike but inculed one in it in order to drop a prime target also we need to have ur split teams pick-out and make sure the no thier roles( like who takes the thief and what the prime npc targets we should take out frist). Well lets get back in there and get that 1200 rating
go ZB :D

You've listed everything we've been practicing for months now.  Problem is, if you keep changing the builds, it makes it that much more difficult to do a proper split or be a strat caller as the teams capabilities keep changing and are always different.  The target caller/strategy designator needs to know the build itself inside out, and what everyone is capable of handling, not just his own class.

So pick one or two good builds, and play them, alot.

If somethings not working, the metagame is against it, change only one or two skills at a time to adjust.  If it works, keep it, if it doesn't remove it.  Trouble shoot the build and its weaknesses.  Don't come up with a totally new build just because certain teams are metagamed against it.  There are always going to be counters to a build, we have to learn to deal with them, not scrap the entire build.

Thats my recommendation.

Zodiac Braves / GvG Paragon Build??
« on: November 06, 2006, 04:14:43 PM »
Keeping everything the two of you said in mind...I think Johnny's build is putting to many slots into damage and spreading stats to thinly...Sloaner's Build looks better focused and HUGELY defensive, so it could work really well...except I'm not big on "We shall return" with so much Defense, on a hoh holding build, yes =), but gvg...

The monks were discussing Offering of Blood as a viable Mo/N build again...so my idea being thrown out here is...

Tactics
Command
Leadership
Spear Mastery

Disrupting Throw(Int), Harrier's Toss (runners), or Wild Throw (utility)
Stand Your Ground
Incoming
Watch Yourself
Never Give Up
Never Surrender
Fall Back
Signet of Return

OoB Monks will love the additional energy and healing from comboing OoB with Never Give Up + Never Surrender.  Toss in Fall Back and they never run out of Health either...

Johnny, Ballad of Restoration is nice, but most of motivation helps Caster type classes, so maybe a more Motivation based Paragon build would Help our Caster Heavy Build (2 ele, 2 monks, me/n...)and it would hella increase the Heals on this skill if thats what your after.

"Incoming!" isn't meant to be up 24/7.  Otherwise its like a ward...your opponents will time it and spike around it.  Watch the Warriors and Damage Casters for spikes.  It casts instantly, so you can put it up whenever the situation calls for it.

Question though:  Are our monks standing their ground or Falling Back? =)

So at this stage of the Tourney all the teams know what maps their playing up til the semi-finals.

Hence this will effect the builds chosen for those given maps and the metagame skill choices?

An interesting little exercise would be to see if we can guess what types of builds and metagame skills teams will bring to each maps.

I think the all warrior build would be fuckin awesome!!!  I'm down i think the last thing should be a Rit/Me or Rit/Ran and also have that weapon spell that makes it so attacks cant be blocked or evaded to help out one warrior.

1 Bull's Charge Warrior (Sword) (Flag Runner)
1 Dragon Slash Warrior (Sword)
1 Evicerate Warrior (Axe)
1 Anti-Warrior (Hammer)
1 Devestating Warrior (Hammer)
2 Monks
1 Rit (Spirits) (Natures, Tranq, etc.....) or (Expel Hexes)

Rofl, you guys are nuts, why even bother with an Anti-Warrior Warrior =)

This would be an oppurtune time to try a healer Rit/Mo Infuser...

Generous was Tsungrai, Infuse, Mend Body and Soul, , Soothing Memories, Flesh of My Flesh or Lively was Naomi, Attuned was Songkai, Recuperation, Open

He could run Guided Weapon I suppose, but then would have to spread some Attributes out.

Everytime the ladder locks, members suggest we get creative with builds and test stuff out.

We experemented with Johnny and Alfred's builds this weekend(HoH, GvG), and I thought both played farely well and had good staying power/pressure.

So here's a thread for "Idea's",  You don't need to have a build, just an Idea and a couple of base skills really, we'll figure the rest out in game if it sounds good.

Things to keep in mind,
*new metagame will be created at end of month with the new game being released.  So we need to come up with builds that will have staying power through the transition.
*Spike was nerfed in HoH, but is becoming more popular in GvG, especially with Shelter being nerfed...Anti-spike helps alot, having a spike also HELPS alot more.
*Condition builds are going to get overpowered on release of nightfall

-My suggestion is a Moderate and Simple to run E-Denial Build that packs some bite.  A simple spike, Moderate levels of anti-enchantment/hex for added pressure.  Probably do a 3 monk support with an RC and an Infuse in there.

ok we kicked ass with this yesterday, im gonna try reposting a more refined version of the build with what we used yesterday

Punt, you're getting better at targeting, your instincts are good, follow them unless we tell you a different target.   Your calling was much better last night.    Overall I think we can handle any team out there, everyone just needs to not get psyched out when we fight a top 50 team.   Stay cool dammit!  B)

Thanks J,

It felt like the warriors were accomplishing much more - alot more.  Put all our focus on the Mesmers/Rangers/Smiters to divert their attention, then Spike a Monk and immediately execute operation "Monks are in Season".

I can't count how many times Leo and I would jump one monk and then hopscotch to the next one to take him down as well and just follow the Domino effect across the whole team.

The Guided Weapons became very effective once we worked out the timing.  Call the spike and by the time I get to 1 I've got Guided.  Another perk of the skill was being able to spike through Ward Against Melee, very nice little perk there.

Only change I made to Sloaner's Build was Bull's Strike over Protector's Strike I believe - Personal Preference since I brought KD gloves.

Eviscerate
Axe Rake
Executioner's Strike
Bull's Strike
Frenzy
Dash
"Shield's Up"
Rez

Gave Leo the Siphon Speed, didn't make much use of Shield's up all that often do to a lack of Ranger heavy Teams...honestly I almost wish we had brought both W/A's with Siphon Speed...but hey, no biggie if the casters like the SU, its only one slot and I did use if for Archer Pushes in the enemy base.
