Random Ranting / Computerrrr...
« on: May 18, 2005, 09:39:57 PM »
It figures. My computer won't start up. The recovery disks won't work without a total reformat so far.

In other words: I won't be able to get on to Guild Wars, or NWN at that, for at least a day. Even then, depending on how badly Compy 386 is messed up, I may lose all my data.

Currently I am on a Lappy 486. However, Compy is better, didn't cause a rupture in the time space continuum, nor did it have to be shot with Bubs' Homestar leg of a shotgun (My mouth wasn't a broken .jpg, I swear).

I finally got rid of my stupid Kenga (or whatever it was named) RPG avatar and got something more suited for me.

PS. I know it is kind of large... If I find a way to downsize it I will.

Guild Wars General / Questions!!!
« on: April 12, 2005, 03:25:33 PM »
Okay, I'm going to get GW when it comes out. (Hurray!)

But, I need to know the following:

1) The game (per month) is free, but from what I remember you have to pay for updates. Is this true?

2) How are servers set up? Is it only one huge server, a couple of individual servers (server 1, 2, 3, etc), Region divided (AKA USA server, UK server but not region *restricted*), or player-made servers?

3) What do I get if I reserve the game at EB games? What are the other goodies you can get at other stores?

4) What are the upsides and downsides of the classes (and races)?

5) Is there anything else I should know?

I just wanted to know (as I don't really see why), why password? I see the points about keeping idiots like wobbles, hell, and such out, but what about if I just want to see the roster?

Just curious. And always wondered.

Birthday Forum! / YAY! DEMON STONE!
« on: October 05, 2004, 05:34:28 PM »
Very good game, right from the start.

My birthday was just celebrated with dinner last night, and my brother (who wasn't there at the time :( ) bought Demon Stone for me, knowing the fun i have on NWN.

heres the characters (in order of who you meet/play as first)

[attachmentid=226]Rannek, the Fighter[/span]
Unlike most travelers, Rannek journeyed to the Bloodstone land of Damara in search of anonymity. He hadnÃ????t come to fight in Vaasa, but rather to escape a tortured past. Several months after settling down, Rannek made a costly error. While employed as a scout on the outskirts of Nesme, he failed to recognize an impending troll attack. He misjudged the enemy, whom he thought were simply scavenging for trace metals at the base of the Galena Mountains. The advancing group turned out to be a troll invasion force accompanied by a unit of battle-thirsty orcs. NesmeÃ????s unsuspecting citizens, hearing no alarm call, were left defenseless as the onslaught ensued. Although a dwarven countercharge eventually returned Nesme back to its folk, Rannek left the region in disgrace. After some time, the beleaguered fighter headed east toward Damara, pulled in that direction by a force he could not explain. With little to lose, he followed. Rannek specializes in the use of melee weapons, the sword and the fist.

[attachmentid=228][span style=\'color:red\']Zhai, the Rogue[/span]
Zhai is one of the rarest race combinations found anywhere in the Realms. Her mother was drow, a dark elf from the subterranean city of Menzoberranzan, while her father was a wood elf from Cedarleaf. Zhai never felt comfortable being raised on the surface world. She was not generally welcomed, as people didnÃ????t trust one who so resembled a drow. Thus, at the first opportunity, she set out to make a name for herself in the Coldlands, hoping to alleviate that prejudice, as well as the rage that brewed within her. Zhai is the most athletic of the group. With her gymnastic abilities, she can tackle most obstacles. She can also avoid detection by hiding in natural shadows within the environment.

[attachmentid=227][span style=\'color:red\']Illius, the Sorcerer[/color]
Descended from an ancient line of knights known as the Silver Guard of Silverymoon, Illius was disowned by his family for one simple reason: he chose spell craft over the martial arts. Yearning to learn more of the world beyond Silverymoon, the sorcerer set out on a path far from home. He sought out adventure and, like Rannek, felt a strong, unexplainable pull toward Damara. Illius specializes in the use of magic. He has nolimitation on his projectile combat ability.

GodSpire General / BvB Battles!
« on: October 02, 2004, 01:15:42 PM »
Here's the rules (note: i'm open to suggestions of rules and changing/removing rules):

1) A spell casting class must be dominant over any other classes (note: may be multiple different casting classes).

Classes allowed:

Sorcerer, Wizard, Druid, Cleric, and Paladin (Buffs only from pally). If i missed any spell casting classes, those are allowed.

Exceptions to this rule is archer. It has a companion, so an archer may also compete. Although they have a companion, they do not have the spells the a spell casting class would (this means you doriathians can compete too :P).

2) 2-4 summons (regulation is 4, duelists may choose otherwise).

3) Summons may be buffed.

4) Opponent's summons may also be anti-buffed (does not mean dispell buffs or launch a spell to attack it).

5) The battle will consist of about (regulation terms) 4 rounds. The rounds will have 1v1, and when one goes down, the owner of the losing summon must summon a new beast, and the owner of the winning beast will use the beast from last round until it dies.

6) No killing the actual opponent, just the opponents Beasts (pull back with follow command and step back if they go for the opponent!!) Also, when battling use stealth mode to get others monsters to back off of you.

7) Familiars are allowed. They are one of the best things to have as a summoner as you can personally control them [arcane only] and they level up as you do. These types of summons are only allowed max 2 times. (includes the divine companions).

8) The elemental swarm spell is not allowed.

9) No healing.

10) A great place to participate is on the farm, on the plateau across from the newb torture plateau. One opponent on each end and monsters in the middle of it make a great arena! (even fits two balors!).

11) Please keep all summons handy on quickbar, we don't all want to be waiting to see the next round.

12) When the full battle is over, and all the rounds are finished, the opponent that lost must then 'forfeit' the duel as they have run out of useable beasts.

13) Have fun, and don't cuss or complain about another persons strategy/Beast.

[span style=\'color:red\']
1) Have subrace set for: Godly summoner, Nuetral summoner, or Demonic summoner. (godly, nuetral and demonic are allowed to be substituted) setting is according to alignment.

This is also very good combined with OP. rule#2 and using monsters based on the alignment (Demonic summoner, Black/evil looking features, Balor, Dragon, and the likes)

2) Have Body features of an Element (fire: Red and black tattoos with redish black hair, Water: Blue and white, Wind/air: White, Grass/Earth: Green and brown, and so on).

3) Tell others about BvBing, and get the message spread.

Remember, these are OPTIONAL.

Note: if you have any questions, come to me on GS. (acc: Celestial1; Name: Celest)

Happy BvBing boys and girls!

(if you would like to participate in rule examining/changing, please talk to me on GS and i'll see if you are worthy to help with the rule set up. If you never see me on GS use the PM and i will respond sometime, just don't spam me if i don't get it soon enough!)

Random Ranting / Legal or not? the game YOU want to play!
« on: September 21, 2004, 08:03:09 PM »
Ok, heres how this game works:

I state something that is either legal or illegal, and you must decide whether it is legal or not. Give a reason why legal or illegal.

First question!

Is burning a CD for your neighbor, friend or family member legal, or illegal?
