Here's the rules (note: i'm open to suggestions of rules and changing/removing rules):
OFFICIAL RULES!
1) A spell casting class must be dominant over any other classes (note: may be multiple different casting classes).
Classes allowed:
Sorcerer, Wizard, Druid, Cleric, and Paladin (Buffs only from pally). If i missed any spell casting classes, those are allowed.
Exceptions to this rule is archer. It has a companion, so an archer may also compete. Although they have a companion, they do not have the spells the a spell casting class would (this means you doriathians can compete too 
).
2) 2-4 summons (regulation is 4, duelists may choose otherwise).
3) Summons may be buffed.
4) Opponent's summons may also be anti-buffed (does not mean dispell buffs or launch a spell to attack it).
5) The battle will consist of about (regulation terms) 4 rounds. The rounds will have 1v1, and when one goes down, the owner of the losing summon must summon a new beast, and the owner of the winning beast will use the beast from last round until it dies.
6) No killing the actual opponent, just the opponents Beasts (pull back with follow command and step back if they go for the opponent!!) Also, when battling use stealth mode to get others monsters to back off of you.
7) Familiars are allowed. They are one of the best things to have as a summoner as you can personally control them [arcane only] and they level up as you do. These types of summons are only allowed max 2 times. (includes the divine companions).
The elemental swarm spell is not allowed.
9) No healing.
10) A great place to participate is on the farm, on the plateau across from the newb torture plateau. One opponent on each end and monsters in the middle of it make a great arena! (even fits two balors!).
11) Please keep all summons handy on quickbar, we don't all want to be waiting to see the next round.
12) When the full battle is over, and all the rounds are finished, the opponent that lost must then 'forfeit' the duel as they have run out of useable beasts.
13) Have fun, and don't cuss or complain about another persons strategy/Beast.

OPTIONAL RULES!

1) Have subrace set for: Godly summoner, Nuetral summoner, or Demonic summoner. (godly, nuetral and demonic are allowed to be substituted) setting is according to alignment.
This is also very good combined with OP. rule#2 and using monsters based on the alignment (Demonic summoner, Black/evil looking features, Balor, Dragon, and the likes)
2) Have Body features of an Element (fire: Red and black tattoos with redish black hair, Water: Blue and white, Wind/air: White, Grass/Earth: Green and brown, and so on).
3) Tell others about BvBing, and get the message spread.
Remember, these are OPTIONAL.
