I want to play some GW too.  I'd really like to get my GWAMM but I need to max 5 titles.

My friends and I have been playing 4th edition D&D for a few years now and it's getting old because the DM doesn't know when to end an encounter or move things along and there's no RPing.  We did a run through of a quest out of the starter box for 5th and it went super fast.  I don't care what edition I play just that the DM can be flexible.  Once we finish up this 4th ed. side campaign I'm not sure if we'll switch to our original campaign using 5th or go back to 2nd which we started it with or even stay with 4th!

Hi everybody,

I Have...

Started ANOTHER play through of Skyrim V but lost interest.

Started a play through of GW but my girlfriend lost interest.

Started a play through of Brutal Doom on Realism but haven't finished.

Started Fallout Out: New Vegas but there was so much stuff to pick up in the starting house that I never left.

Started Skyrim IV but felt totally overwhelmed when I finally got outside and thought I was starting a play through of Skyrim V.

Started the first Walking Dead game and it's very good but I need more time to play for longer stretches to get into it.

Started Dragon Age but I don't like artwork and the story reminds me of GW.

Started Legend of Grimrock on Old School.  It's very good and fun to wander around.

i've been playing some Magic 2014 & Duels but it takes some focus that I don't usually have to be good.

I'm not sure if I should start Titan Quest, Portal, Batman Arkham City, The Witcher or Styx: Master of Shadows.

I'm playing  older games that I didn't bother with before because I was hooked on even older games or a specific game at the time.  The good old ones are now cheap on Steam and my limited hardware can run them maxed and they look good.

Rather than diggin' out my NWN cds from storage, I bought the Diamond edition on GOG for $10.  Installed and it runs great on Windows 10.  There was a problem with setting the resolution that took only a little trouble shooting.  Doing a full play through and geesh, Desther is really tough.  I also installed X-Mouse that allows you to customize mouse controls for just about any software.  With this I switched the middle and right mouse buttons in the game.

How is 5e?  It feels like my friends just got the hang of 4e after 4 years.

We're on after 8:30-9pm EST.  Just about to do the Nolani Academy and the Diessa(?) land quests.

Hi everybody,

Currently waiting for a job to start so I came back home to play some games.  I picked up on Steam/Origin ME 1-3 and Far Cry 1-3 discounted.  My friend and I have also started new characters in GW 1 but that's moving very slow they like to kill everything.  There's some Minecraft, creative mode and like always I play some Diablo1 and Doom 1-2 on the side.

ME 1 was off to a frustrating start. The poorly timed cut-scenes and ambushes were really frustrating and the depth of the consequences of your choices in dialogue was hard to tell and I was far into the game when I realized that if I took a hard line approach to most conversations, either paragon or rebel, I could then get those options (red/blue). I feel like I missed a lot of opportunities.  Plus having to figure out when I could talk to my squad and get further was hard to tell so I was constantly prompting them for more conversation but finding that I hadn't progressed enough in the story to get any where with them.  In the end the romance seemed like they just gave it to me cause I put in some effort.  Ashley is an asshole but I saved her.

And WTF is with all the elevators and doors and corridors?  Are they just trying to add to the game play time?  The voice acting for Shepard is flat.  The female actor is much better especially as a rebel.  I'm not into the side quests of collecting rocks...or alien artifacts even on the off chance this opens something cooler and more meaningful just seems like a grind.  What I call click questing.

It has opened me to more modern FPS with the ducking and jumping action.  I haven't played FPS's in such a long time because the controls are out of hand for me but here the dumbing down is appreciated.  The squad commands are squirrelly and unreliable a lot of the time.  They remind me of hero/henchies in GW.

I didn't care for the Prothean computer thing telling me that he had no idea why the Reapers were doing what they were doing.  Seemed like a lame line to say something to the effect of "No one knows even the writers"  so there was a big let down in the story there.

Starting ME 2 and it's more of the same.  Very disappointed that my ENTIRE squad is gone and the overall story beginning is just weak.  Glad they added details like bathrooms and cooks but why is the first nonmission quest getting f***ing ingredients for the kitchen?  Grocery shopping in a SciFi epic opera really?  Also, there's the no crouching thing....

Guns are cool and I love the upgrade system but there's no context for anything as far as stats etc. ME seems to do too much of everything to be great at anything.

I haven't started Far Cry yet but I'm looking for the exploration/sand box side rather than the story because the writing in these games is failing.

Anyone playing Rust?  Looks like the community is really divided on the direction of the game.  I'd play it but can't run it.  Vertiigo's videos are awesome!

Picked up DA during the discounted week but I've only played for a couple of hours. I've been spoiled by Skyrim.  The same week I got Civ 5 and Batman Arkham City (I know I'm a little behind) but I just can't get into any of them.

I've been hiking just about every weekend in the Whites.  The weekend I didn't go because of the weather was the same weekend a hiker died on the northern Presidentials.

So far it's well balanced.  There's an abundance of magic items to support the crafting system which would be better if you could carry more and not have to salvage so many high priced items for the important "arcane tokens".  I'd rather sell the high priced items and salvage lower quality ones to get a better return on my loot.
I'm coming up on level 30 and haven't finished Normal, in comparison on the vanilla I'm not even level 25 and I could easily take out Diablo in Normal.  Maybe I'm too chicken but level 16 is a bitch.  For rogues to use spells at this point is just inefficient unless you want 0 AC and get tooled by the charging warriors.

I think they should bring back dropping all your gear when you die.  Some of my most intense moments were trying to get my gear back and with the proliferation of items in this version getting up to "gear" is just enough of an inconvenience and it brings back the excitement of finding items.  Also there's a shit load of PERMANENT storage space so it's easy enough to keep extra gear on hand if you did die and lost your equipment   Right now if you die you lose some percentage of gold.  I've stopped carrying all of my gold on me so death is without much consequence which leaves the game more of a grind rather than a challenge.

A digital download for D1 is long over due and if it weren't for games like D1 I'd get a new computer without a CD drive.
How many of you use your CD drive?

Legends of Grimlock anyone? Anyone?  I've played for an hour or so.  It's clumsy and takes some getting used to and it's definitely a grind but is something of a nail bitter and page turner.

I tried the new Neverwinter game and found it disappointing. The overall artwork isn't what I'm looking for combined with the lack of control over, well, control, like not being able to zoom the camera and having to use alt to toggle the ability to interact with my interface.  The interface has so much going on and yeah I know I can customize it  - but they also throw in the art elements to further clutter it.

Oh I should mention that when I tried to log in, nothing happened.  I searched online and found that I had to open the game from my Program Files directly.  Then when I filled the two free character slots I wanted to see how much a new slot would cost and yet again when I clicked on the "buy character slot" nothing happened.

And why put me into Neverwinter right away?  It was driving me nuts that there were so many people and I'm trying to find my way through the city with no clue as to what was worth interacting with on top of the laggy connection (I know it's not the developers problem) but the intensity of all the graphics didn't help.

I'm not sure if it's an incongruity issue or not but I noticed that the tutorial brought me to the outside entrance of the city, then entering the gate put me well beyond the entrance of the city.

Part of it is already knowing (from playing other MMORPGs) that there's so much to interact with, there's so much crafting material and weapons and mechanics that it's just overwhelming to dump it all on the player at what seems like all at once.

Yet all that I did enjoy playing the control wizard.  The frost effect was cool combined with the teleport ability to craftily dodge away from that huge boss on the bridge in the tutorial and guess what happens?  The fucker turned and ran from me and instantly healed back to 100% wtf...

I recommend AT&T/DSL since we've been using it for nearly two decades without any problems.

I wanted to, I really did, but Fairpoint wanted a $100 bucks to run a phone line to the basement from the street then up to my floor. There's no phone jacks in my building.

Comcast is a piece of shit.
One rep hung up on me after I made condescending remarks when she mentioned at the very last moment my bill was going to double in 12 months.  Another rep tried to charge me 64/month after I had been quoted 30/month by two other reps.  The rep who setup my account failed to mention I'd need an account number to "verify" my modem.  And the dozens of times they tried to sell me their shitty TV subscription!
They bamboozled a friend of mine into thinking they need to use Comcast's modem to get a LAN and that they need a router.  They pay 90/month for internet, TV & phone.

Back online after moving. 4 quotes from different ISPs and a dozen calls to Comcast (one rep hung up on me!).  I was FORCED intto doing business with Comcast.  This is what I got;
12 months @  $30/month after 12 months it goes to $50 or something
24mbps/4mbps
No setup cost cause I bought my own modem for $70 bucks which saved me $7/month and I have routers like I have socks which saved me another $7/month
No TV or phone

What are you guys in the big cities paying?

Quick Draw looks good. It's hard to fit in the time for a TV series but I watch Stewart & Colbert on Hulu because there's a lot I can skip through while still being entertained.  I'm watching a lot of the shows on Geek & Sundry and Cinemassacre.

After playing so much of Skyrim, looking back, I feel like all the bugs clouded over the game play.  The redundant monsters and cookie cut dungeons and the lack of puzzles, the unbalanced sneak system, makes me wonder if ESO is going to be as bad.
Plus the setting of the world looks like a hodge-podge of different worlds -  not the one that got my attention in ESV which was very acute and decisive.
But I'm not loyal to the franchise either so I don't really know the look of the earlier games or if this is typical.

I liked the look of this but I'm fussy. I want less combat options in my FPS.  Point and click will do, not all those gadgets and tripod guns.

Table top D&D (4e & 3.5) and Magic Planeswalkers on Steam which I had never played up to three weeks ago and I'm loving it.
Bought a month subscription for WoW but the new skill tree isn't doing anything for me.
Got sick of messing with mods for Skyrim.
Looking for an FPS to get into and I'm revisiting Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I'd like to finish Skyrim but when I go back in time to kill the dragon I can never knock him down to the ground with the shout and that's IF the dragon shows up at all for the cutscene which happens 80% of the time.  I'd rather not replay it as I've cleared everything
