Since I figure no one's going to notice if I post in the other thread, I'll post here when we're going to play....
Meclar and I are going to do Sanctum Cay mission in Hard Mode soon. I just have to run my dervish there so he can do it. Then we'll be off as soon as we're ready. If anyone wants to come along just log on and send a message.

Hmm well it seems Anet increased the drop frequency of obsidian shards at least. I just finshed a solo run through the beach and spider cave collecting 4 shards for my trouble... not bad.

I took Ribs and heroes/henchies almost all the way through Tombs of Primeval Kings the other day. Nothing good dropped. We need to be on hard mode but I doubt I could get through hard mode with henchmen.

I don't see how an action RPG like GW2 or a RTS like SC2 will compete with a MMO. But, Blizzard is going to announce a new MMO at the upcoming Blizzcon this summer.

Yes. GW really is light on system requirements on the lowest settings.

I think I had this older computer when I first played GW. Installing it now. It's more so that I'm terribly spoiled not being able to run two instances of GW windowed with high graphic settings, iTunes, and web browser and whatever else I want . :P 1024x 768!! I mean come on...

Trying out the fix I did on the video card and it's not working. There doesn't seem to be any power to the video card. I think it's beyond repair. And it doesn't look like the on board video will support GW. I guess I could take out the oldest video card I have and put it in this one.

Beat Cold as Ice on 3rd try. Used the following skills:
Defy Pain - Sever Artery - Gash - Galrath Slash - Tiger Stance - Ebon Assassin - Restful Breeze - "Finish Him"
Once he summons his spirits I ran away. Obviously since it's impossible to fight with them around. So get out of range, he'll follow. Then rush him, summon assassin. Once he summons another Shadowsong cast healing and run away. He regens but not too quickly. Get out of range. He follows, summon assassin attack...rinse repeat..you should kill him after about 3 or 4 times of running and healing and attacking.
EDIT: Using consumables like cupcakes would probably make it a lot easier.

Odd that you posted what you used. I did the same thing this morning after finishing the Norn Fighting Tournament but I put it in the guild announcements. I'll post it here too:
YMLaD (level3), EVAS (level 3), Defy Pain, Sever Artery, Gash, Dolyak Signet and Vigorous Spirit with I think, 9 Healing Prayers, 12 Swordsmanship, 12 Strength and a Zealous Fortitude Sword.
It took a couple of times to get my timing down but beat everyone easily enough and made sure to interrupt Magni's form with YMLaD. Magni actually had enough time to use his form again but by then his hit points were so low that I was able to kill him. I had tried something similar to this a few weeks ago and many other variations but having a higher level EVAS made a big difference and timing YMLaD.

Figured you did. Nope, your heroes wouldn't leave your dead corpse. Plus you were our second monk so it would make finish the mission rather difficult.
I wait for about 10 mins they tried THK on my own. I forgot that Ironhammer doesn't run back like the rest of your henchmen so I kinda accidentally left him behind to solo some Stone Summit. So I failed and logged off. I had a computer to build so I did that. I'll have much more time today.

So I just finished Nahpui Quarter in Hm and really it wasn't that hard considering we had 3 heros (2 monks 1 ele nuker) 5 people (A rit healer insisted on playing a build he was "testing" which was just a SoS resto and then quit 5 seconds into the mission) 2 of which were warriors myself and a dps. We had a SS necro and a non-perma sin, I think with Moebius. We finished with ten minutes left on the clock and no major wipes maybe 3 people dead at one time. I used this build:
Save Yourselves, Watch Yourself, Shields Up, Endure Pain, Defy Pain, Justice For All, Barbarous Slice and Gash. 11 Strength 12 Swordsmanship 12 Tactics

So that was a little unorganized considering it had been posted on the GoE forums for a few days but everyone seemed happy with the drops. Not sure how long it took to clear the city and stygian veil but it was an hour before we got set to do those areas.

Well we didn't clear the Veil. We got wiped quite nicely at the Dreadspawn Maw.

Finally found a PUG that could finish Foundry. Just completed the Gloom tonight and I've had the city done for a while just need the Veil then Mallyx.
That's the Black Beast of Aaaarrrggghhh in the back round the boss for the area. Guess this should have gone under screen shots oh well.

So what's the secret?

The monk-smite-famine way is the secret but for a random group of 8, I have no idea. The other monk we had knew a certain way to do the final room but as far as that third room we stood by the wall and nuked the titans liked we had tried before. I think the necro had blood ritual or BiP to boost the monks energy. The eles had wards and they were definitely water magic. One rit went channeling and the other communing so between the two of them 8-9 spirits. You can see I went UA and Dwarf Breathe made a big difference when the burning came. The other monk was a WoH protection hybrid. All that and good spawns?

The trick with Foundry was having a perma-sin tank the aggro on the left side of the entrance to the third room and the rest of group nuke'em. Got a better way to do Veil than we did it. Gloom's a lot easier with a perma-sin but we did fine without. We do DOA in Nm of course.

If you do it backwards you can do 8 people and yeah I'm interested but Dreadnoughts is evil to vq even with a party of 8. With a rit and cons it'll go pretty quick. And depending on how many people, you could fit in discordway/sabway heroes.

We couldn't get past first mob in Dreadnoughts. MM wasn't very good because you can't bring minions across area transitions...

The combined vanquish is 600-800 monsters, so it might not be something we do in an evening. We might consider doing it this weekend so we can start in the afternoon. I was thinking of a Discordway team actually, and Terra would probably be running SoS, so we'd have a lot of damage to dish as it is.

It's 2 areas or 3? Probably around 1 hour per area.

I'll donate money so you can get a run to Rankor or where ever we need to start from for an 8 person team to make this as easy as possible. Could probably run you there myself. An MM would definitely be worth taking. I've been using Animate Bone Minion on both Livia and Olias which speeds up minion making and better for bombing. After doing the Borlis Pass mission I've found that bringing two enchant strippers works great against Dolys using Mark of Protection which are all the way down the shiverpeaks.
I need some time to get materials for consets so this weekend might be better.

This weekend is a double experience points for elite skill capture+double green drop weekend, so I was going to use it to finish up Prophecies on my survivor and get some nice experience from capping elite skills. Would you come on and join me on Friday, Mo?

ahhh...not sure, but she's on tonight and has been for the past two nights. I'd presume they'll be on new year's day to collect the new hats at least. Maybe you should just drop wow for a couple days and play gw again. We had a good guild group for City of Torc'qua the other night.

Well you've been missing out. This is the second weekend in a row that we've done DoA runs. El and Samm found a team build that uses Destructive was Glaive rits. Should take about two hours to clear all of DoA once we're up to speed. Right now we would probably home in under four if we could finish the whole thing. We've managed to do city, veil and gloom easily with it, but we're still working on doing foundry in full. We wiped at the part where you have to protect the npc's. If you get set up before next Saturday, I most likely can't make it so they might be short a monk. I dunno if they'll try to do a full run or just foundry and mallyx.

Before the January 27, 2011 update, players had difficulty completing both the bonus and mission together (especially in Hard Mode); while escorting the Restless Spirit to his family's tomb it was very easy to trigger the White Mantle's final assault. This would result in mission failure when the Vizier spawned right in the middle of White Mantle troops gathered there when players approached the docks, and quickly getting killed by them.

lol been MIA for a while...man..I guess logging into GW1 is possible...I did log into the game a while ago for that very reason...all characters were alive and well.
