Title: Disagreement in Number
Post by: Throbblefoot on May 14, 2006, 07:09:56 PM
I'm logged into Godspire, and I see 2 other players on.
I look at the LM "who's online" and it says no one is on.
I log out and back in to look at the player list. It tells me 3 people are on.
I log on, there are 2 other people on.

Those numbers just don't add up....

So when a player logs in as a DM on a server and you have him/her in your buddy list, does the buddy list then show that he is in the server?

Maybe it has something to do with people in the character selection page?

DM's show up in the Who's online section and they also show up in the server list as players.. they just don't show up in the Player list when you're in a server.

Something seems to be wrong with the "Who's Online" list for some players. Sometimes it shows that a player has been logged in since 2004. Other times it just doesn't list certain players. I think it has something to do with specific dates that a player first logged into GodSpire but it's really hard to test this.

The reason that GameSpy reported that the server had 3 players on was probably because it hadn't refreshed since you logged out so it still counted you along with the other 2 players. This is, of course, attributed to the fact that GameSpy is a worthless piece of garbage.
