Title: Guild General
Post by: Throbblefoot on June 01, 2005, 09:47:04 PM
Sorta like "Clan General" in the GodSpire forum, this is a place to discuss anything about guilds for general consumption. I'll post the Culann's Hounds roster here in a bit.

Not only that but the Guild Hall is a nice place to hang out in between adventuring. Once you're in post-searing you can access the Guild Hall to chat, trade or go afk.

The sigil cost 75,000 when Rune bought it, the price fluctuates according to supply and demand throughout the day.

Go down to the dock in Lion's Arch and find the captain on one of the boats, he can take you on a tour of the various Guild Halls.

Elessar, I'll have Throbble fix the list when she gets on.

Warrior's was the default beta guild hall so we wanted something different. I like the Wizard's because of the nice house with a vineyard at the top of the hill just outside the village. The Hunter's Guild Hall has more of a "Celtic" feeling to it, with the mossy walls and overcast sky.

Both the Wizard's and Hunter's have great spots from which to use bows and staves.

Yet, you are still not on the ladder:P THe very last rank is someone that has 0 wins and 1 loss. You cant get a ranking higher than that? I dont play GWs yet (sunday  :D )so maybe i dont understand something.

I don't think we're strong enough to do Guild battles.. are we?? So if we haven't done any.. We can't be ranked.. Right?

Like i mentioned before.  The Guild Wars ladder ranks the TOP 1000 guilds.  There are more than 1000 guilds.

any team of 8 is strong enough for Guild battles. just need to practice and get a good team going.

exactly, i think what some of us who have great build ideas in our minds are struggling with is actually getting the skills you want, unlocked... take mark of rodgort, for example, thats altheway in the copperhammer mines, and you have to do the santum cay mission to get to there, 420 says that it is so frustrating that he has done it soo many times that he can outline what you have to do for it from memory- and he did tell me it lol....(we had to go from lion's arch to bergen hotsprings to temple of ages, to fisherman's haven, and finally made it to santum cay.... took a while but it was fun :D)

I'll make sure Throbble adds you when she gets home from work.

Elessar, you are forgetting after the Sanctum Cay mission you go to the Crystal Desert where you must complete 3 missions to ascend then you have to go through the Dragon's Lair and pass 6 tests. After that you end up in the Southern Shiverpeaks where you can travel to the Copperhammer Mines.

As for guild vs. guild battles there are a few things we need to do before we even attempt a guild vs. guild battle.

First, everyone needs to unlock at least a good number of skills, runes and weapon upgrades. That way they can at least make a PvP only character if they don't have a RP character that is fully leveled with the best armor and weapons. As Elessar pointed out, some of the necessary common skills and all of the elite skills are hard to get. (Elite skills can only be learned by using a Signet of Capture to steal it from a boss monster that uses the skill.)

Second, we need 8 players with PvP experience. That means a bunch of us need to start practicing in the various arenas, especially Tomb of the Primevil Kings. This can be reached with the PvP only character or by your RP character once you Ascend and travel to the Dragons Lair. Practice, practice, practice!

Lastly, we need to come up with some strategies and team builds. Unfortunatly Arivs is down so I can't access our beta strategy discussions right now. However, it would help to know what type of character builds people are planning to make for PvP. At least then we can discuss which roles we need to fill (tank, healer, caster, etc.) I will start a topic to list your PvP and team build ideas.

Since guild vs. guild battles effect our Guild Rating, we all need to be experienced and comfortable at team vs. team battles before we even think about guild vs. guild battles.

EDIT: Discuss Guild vs. Guild strategy here (http://bluestarnet.com:1000/forum/index.php?showtopic=1892).

I did some arena battles today, I did well but took 3-5 minutes to download each battle on 5.6K. Also we should keep any specific stratagies to the secure forums.
